pacsteam sucks. it is not a complete steam client emulator and then are about 10 months that no one update it. to work an emulator must be updated often at the same way like Valve do with the official client

*off the recored..naked alyx scene would be great;)
and about steam..i do have original copy of the game, but i finished the game befor i had original copy with th pirate version and also the episodes, so..crackers cracked the single player steam stuff with out too many trubles.

i'm trying to make a half life 2 mod work ,it minerva metastasis, it needs half life 2 episode one installed and i've downloaded the digitalzone version but it crashes whan loading a level and even in the menu it's full of pink shitty errors

I really love the half life episodes but honestly, they are too short... I understand the concept, but if you're going to release short addons like this, do it more frequently...

the full games runs only with steam installed once time u have downloaded them from here (u can't play without a connection cause u get only crashes and faults) so for all games that use source engine like motor graphic and that have need of all the updates from the client. anyway u need get steam client running to make work the mods for hl 2 and episodes from steam platform.
@ FireMaster
the facts are that steam client have some dll dynamics that are abitually modified from Valve when they make their updates. so a functional emulator is impossible to do. servers where u download games if u don't have a legit account get busy all time and this cause they are high protected

Ritual have stopped to product the others SIN episodes (was programmed 8 or 9 in all) just cause they have passed to product casual games. so the project to make all episodes is vanished

Exactly. Vaporware -- and yet another reason why I DETEST all this pre-release hype that goes on for years before a game is released. Companies hype the games, they advertise them, they show off screenshots and trailers ... and then what? "Oh sorry, we're not making it anymore. We've scrapped it"

why shouldnt it be coming?
Valve arent the the best when it comes to keeping deadlines for releases, but at least they always delivered in the end. So with that track-record and seeing how halflife is their holy cash-cow, why would they trash their own business?
