Yep!

Put your HDD on a non-banned console, retrieve your account, download the game .. put HDD back on your banned machine. This works for two reasons;

1. Microsoft removed the DRM from XBLA games, so now they can be downloaded to any machine as long as you use the profile you bought the game with.
2. XBLive bans are console-tied, not gamertag.

Smile

Happy playing!

Yeah, I remember that too. I figure that's why MS changed the DRM policy. Now you just need to sign-in with the account you used to buy the game, and it will work on any machine.

Check out Google for more info, just to make sure.

-Edit-

The reason why it would be so easy for you, without having to go through the license transfer, is because you'll be using your own HDD on the other Xbox. The games are now tied to HDD/Gamertag rather than Xbox/Gamertag.

Download on your hdd, load it up, take HDD off and put it back on your Xbox. Done.

Does this also work for DLC's? And what happens if your hd dies, can you redownload XBL games and DLC's with your gamertag?

Yes and Yes. Also, once the DLC is actually downloaded to the HDD - and activated by the Gamertag that purchased them, they work for ANY profile on the HDD. Online or offline.

Since I'm in Norway right now, I can't purchase ANYTHING off Live on my XBL account (It's a UK-based account and I can't even add MSP either, due to my CC being a UK-based card) so I have to use my girlfriend's Norwegian account. That works perfectly. I buy points and download via her account, then log out and log back in with MY account and everything works fine.

As for the HDD, Microsoft have a tool on their site that allows transfer of licenses in case your HDD dies or you need to move the data to another hard-drive. As long as your drive is functional, plugging it into any 360 will allow you to play the games installed on it.

Too bloody right! I'm especially gutted over Soul Calibur 4 and Ridge Racer 6. It costs 1500MSP for the soundtrack addons for SC4 .. and each track, over 40, for RR6 costs 80MSP each.

Gah.

I've spent about 600MSP on RR6 tunes, and the worst thing? You can only listen to them ingame!! WTF? Talk about a waste. I'd have rather had them as usable in the Media Blade too.

Nah, I can log out of Live and the games are still "full" -- I honestly don't know what's going on with this nonsense. MS themselves say it's possible to do Sad

Kommando, I'm truly sorry bud. Microsoft have said, themselves, that it's possible to transfer files to another HDD -- and the latest updates have removed DRM so now it's tied to the HDD rather than the console itself Sad

-Edit-

Perhaps it's because you need to login, at least once, on the "new" Xbox (in this case, your proper one) to activate the game? Since you're banned from Live, you can't login and can't activate .. but I did NOT know you had to login first.

Im fuckin pissed, i think if i get a new console, in will be able to unlock them rigth away since my account bought them. But its still fuckin stupid, i cant beleive that even the updates didnt stayed on my HDD.

Maybe, like you said, the update remove the DRM but i cant get the updates. I tried the manual thing with the update you download off MS site but it doesnt work at all and i tried every possible way.

So now i need to find someone who doesnt use Live to tradde it with me

Me neither...fuck i hate M$.

Thats what happen when they pulled stunts like that by banning the console, it will get sold on Ebay and someone else will get the problem, its a never ending circle. They should have just banned the account making you loose all achievements. That would make poeple think twice before playing backups.

Shouldn't be too hard, find someody that doesnt have his flashed, tell him that youll throw in a bunch of games, and chances are hell trade you, even people that do use live.
I did that twice allready and have a buddy lined up if i get banned again.

So i traded my X360 with one of my friend and now everything is back to normal. When i first sign on Live, all games were there but as soon as i signed off, everything disapeared.

So i found out i had to transfer the licenses to my new console here http://www.xbox.com/en-US/support/systemuse/xbox360/licensemigration/

And everything work offline now.

So last weekend i checked every single games i had with melleter, a lot of them were not patched properly so no wonder why i got banned Laughing

But here's something troubling, Bad Company and Orange Box amongst other new releases have a CRC error in the SS that wasnt showing up on release, so i guess those who burned and played them right on release will get a bad surprise when the next Ban Hammer will hit Live Very Happy

You have GOT to be kidding!!!! I only downloaded and burned Bad Company two days ago and I check all my ISOs with DVD-Mulleter, but I've been playing Orange Box for weeks!

*pray*

Ok, I'm done. That's enough praying, heh. I can't change what might happen, so screw it Smile The only game I played online anyway was "Call of Duty 4" and I've got the PC version too. I hope I *don't* get banned because that would mean no new Dashboard and no more game updates Sad

Thats true, maybe its nothing but since we have no idea how and what MS use to pinpoint us, we need to be extra carefull when we put a game in the 360 and go on Live

Put your disc in your PC drive, start Mulleter and instead of loading ISO, select Loading from DVDR and CRC Check it then youll know if you will get the same error i got

Upon release, the game is not yet in Mulleter database so you cant have a full check
