I bet Npiracy visits that site everyday.
Quote: | According to the industry-tracking NPD Group, the PC edition of the game sold more than 40,000 copies at US retailers through June. Ubisoft claims the leaked edition of the game was downloaded more than 700,000 times, costing the publisher millions of dollars. |
You know what? In this case they are actually right. Because of the leak they realized the game is a over hyped piece of crap. Ubisoft lost millions for not being able to sell its shitty game. Give the guy who leaked it a medal.

The game was incomplete anyway.
I lol'ed at this article on the same page.

Illegal download nearly costs Valley woman her internet service
Not really news worthy but interesting none the less. “Kristina” from somewhere in Arizona got an email from cox saying “We are writing on behalf of Cox Communications to advise you that we have received a notification that you are using your Cox High Speed Internet service to post or transmit material that infringes the copyrights of a complainant's members”
The article states “Kristina told ABC15 she eventually learned the external hard drive she had purchased from a friend contained an illegally downloaded movie called American Pie Presents: The Naked Mile.
Kristina told ABC15 she eventually learned the external hard drive she had purchased from a friend contained an illegally downloaded movie called American Pie Presents: The Naked Mile.
A note to Kristina: normally files don’t copy themselves to different hard drives, and if they were to , I would doubt they would advertise themselves on the internet. But if in fact you had a magical warez hard drive that was designed to pirate software, I would hope that you take pictures of it and please send it to us for this article.
Maybe if the hard disk is talking you can get a video of it and send us that also (in flash please)

Updated article with a pdf of the actual complaint:
Earlier today I received a copy of the complaint and was hoping this could answer some questions as nobody at Ubisoft returned my requests for comment. The complaint lists a few things but doesn’t answer the question I was most interested in asking – how did you track the leak down to an employees house.
