Yup same here. Looks like three people have reported this in the two forums I'm using.

Thanks! Will try then confirm.

No joy. Now AI remains disabled (with message) and turning it back on does nothing. Now the lovely doctor wont even come out of her booth and stand next to the elevator. Tried with config.cfg write protected and non write protected.

SHIT SHIT SHIT Rolling Eyes

UPDATE! - :-

http://www.naoneo.com/hl2/ fixes it.

I just added -heapsize 512000 to the .exe, behind the -no steam -console parameters. (half your Ram) Forces the game to use more ram, default is only 64000.

Ok, but where exactly add this?
When I add this as parameter to launch.exe file, in the main menu when you press ~ it still says "Heap: 64MB"
Or I have to write it in cfg file (which?)?

I found that info about 2 days ago on this forum:
http://www.hardforum.com/showthread.php?t=833301&page=5&pp=20&highlight=sound+click
(last post on this page)
It says to add it as launch option to HL2 but under steam.

(I have HL2 Emporio Proper 1,4gb)

I'm using the AXPI version where you make a shortcut on your desktop.

Shortcut:properties:target
C:\half-life2\hl2.exe -steam -console -heapsize 512000

burzum - no and you most likely won't be able to ever... well there is a long way using gcf extracting and stuff.. but i don't think you'll want to mess with that. there is no quick no-cd/no-steam patch.

Me too I had the same problem there. Just took out that quickfix and put back the original files. For such a great game, I wont bitch about having to use the console once inawhile. Everything else works perfect so far so I am able to deal with node graph rebuilding and ai disable errors.

Works also with emporio "proper" Wink

Game startup time is much shorter now, level loading times too, and there is less of skipping Cool

weedo - i am wondering too. i think it's just one or two files that cause the hud problems. maybe someone could find out which files and get them from the ahu or climax releases and make a patch... host it on www.yousendit.com or something...

Half Life Source isn't out yet, when it's released, my guess is that a warez version might appear, but as of now having the Half-Life 2 source won't help you a bit.

You have to make a shortcut to hl2.exe and then add -steam -console -heapsize 512000. With luncher it does not work.

without reading this whole thread is the Half Life 2 Proper Emporio any good at all? Can it be patched to work quite well or do I need the 4GB version?
And what patches are required?

Cheers.
