It's all about timing , defense and counter attacks. If you come at me swinging like a drunk sailor chances are that you're going to get pwned rather quickly. Most noobs just try to button mash thinking that it will work but it doesn't even against a C level player (and by C level i mean who knows some basic techniques but still far from a pro)
I am getting this game in a few days since right now i'm too busy moving stuff (changing appt) and man i can;t wait to rape people online with Cervantes. Now i just hope that they haven't dumbed him down or that lag will be a factor. Timing i everything and a high ping could just fuck everything.

Cervantes is also pretty amazing. All his moves are identical to Shura.

If you had played the old ones you'd know its the other way round. Cervantes is the original, Shura is just a reskin of him.

Lol same here. And I just know the second I sign up for live gold, Il get banned. I tend to have very bad luck with xbox 360.

Haha yes I forgot which game it was. My xbox is still not 100% fixed. It always overheats when I play GTA for 30 minutes (at any room temperature). But I can play any other for over 6 hours with no problem lol. But the slightest change in thermal paste results in -30 or +30 minutes of GTA playtime. Ive been constantly trying to figure this problem out for about a month now. Im actually doing a GTA test as Im typing this right now. So far its been 42 minutes. I think Im geting close!
But back on topic here, this game is truly awesome. And I just love the character creation. Theres only one thing that I dont like; they wont let us give custom characters a light saber

Wow. Just wow. Why didn't anyone warn me you have to be Japanese to play this fuckin shit?
1. Whoever it was that told me that this game isn't about combo's but more blocking - sorry, but bullshit. There's no way to block the onslaught of button spam and most the special combos are unblockable.
2. Fastest button spammer always seems to win. Nobody plays the slow lumbering characters because they simply don't stand a chance. In the hundred or so matches I played today 90% of the people were Kilik, Mitsasomething, and Voldo. So much for character balance.
Seriously, this thing controls like garbage
If anyone wants to buy the PS3 version, I'm willing to part with it for $30 USD if you pick up the shipping. Brand new, only played about 8 hours.
What utter fucking garbage. Last time I ever buy a fighting game made by the Japs. Everything is overblown to the point of ridiculousness, not to mention the strange pedophile vibe that comes across with most of those little girl females in dresses. What the fuck?

Do you have to break every piece of armor as well as have the Soul Gauge flashing on your opponent before you can perform a criticl finish?
I've tried to pull them off with just the saul gauge flashing red, but it won't work

You have to break at least one actually. I think you also have to perform a guard break move just before you pull out the critical finish... I'm not 100% sure about the guard breaker though, but it's the only way that seems to work for me.
