Ghost recon , splinter cell , Fallout ..etc | Splinter Cell was an Xbox exclusive when it was released, it was ported to PC.
Ontopic: I'm not going to judge the game until I have played it. I have read several reviews already, and several movies, and it actually looks pretty good. But then again, trailers always do, just like the movies... |
Ghost recon wasn't. Fallout either. Rainbow six. ..etc
R6 was ALL about tactics same for GR , Fallout was a Diablo like game now it's all arcade shooting shit for dumb 360 kids |
don't blame the console , blame the main stream $$$

I guess he means Isometric, that's the one comparison you can make between Diablo II and Fallout II.

I doubt this kind of stuff will be included in the third game , gore is where it stops I guess , consols don't allow AO games as far as I know and I even doubt I'll ever hear the F word on it anyway :/

Yeah, it's just too bad that the SAME site also posted this preview: http://www.eurogamer.net/article.php?article_id=134466
Quote: | In other words, there's much to be excited about with Fallout 3. With BioShock putting 1950s retro-futurism back on the scene, Fallout's return serves as a timely reminder of who actually applied the approach to games in the first place. S.T.A.L.K.E.R. showed how an open world and claustrophobic setting could pay dividends, but for those of us who found it a little too light, a more true-RPG approach is welcome. And for those who Oblivion was a bit too Land-of-the-Fairies, the dense and atmospheric Fallout universe offers a very different experience. As with any game as big of this, we'll only really get a chance to see how it hangs together when we stride out into the waste to see what's out there. I'm looking forward to it. |
Which to believe!? Hmm!

They didn't suck. They were great. Just not your cup of tea most likely.

I just don't get why so many reviews are conflicting. I mean, in one review - the reviewer finds fault in absolutely everything .. while in another, those same "faults" are considered to be bonuses!
Gah. Silly reviewers.
Regardless of whatever is written about this game - I, for one, am looking forward to it immensely!
=edit=
Oh and for the record? I AM one of those fans that loved the original two games - yet I'm STILL eagerly awaiting FO3.

After the PC Gamer review of Oblivion I stoped buying that pos. They gave it a ridiculious high rating and dont remember if they brought up the leveling issue. But no word on the generic feel of the gaming world, instead they went on and on about the main quest and how cinematic and cool it was.
So reviews shouldnt be taken seriousely, atleast not the ones raving about how fantastic a game is when other reviewers say the exact opposite and you have a feeling deep down that itll be a steaming pile of pos.
I have that feeling for this game, coupled with the fact that bethesda are the developers.

the auto leveling wasn't a issue, it was a gameplay choice ... good or bad, whatever, but that's surely wasn't a "issue" just a poor choice (for some).

Yeah it wasnt an issue, but when you encounter simple mobs with daedric armor something just feels wrong. If its a choice it was a purely commercial one, and as a magazine thats supposed to rate a game based on a few factors, one being realism they should still have critized that decission.

At least the whole "world levels with you" aspect has been diminished to a level of "all but nonexistent" in FO3 .. and with mods, you could eliminate it from TES4 too.
