Year or two ago I signed up for LastFM i stopped using it recently. Only used it to log the songs I listened to just to show off to people that I could listen to Joe Strummer and something gay like meat loaf at the same time. I never used its radio thing. Well I did use the app the had. And occasionally I'd enter some artists and see what I could find that I'd like.
But the quality of the stream wasn't that great and the songs they played weren't always that great. Like if you put in some indie rock, they'd play what else is popular and what else you might like. And their tagging, from back then, seemed limited.
Jango is all online from what I can see. Been using it for like 12 months. And you can create your own radio stations. Easy to use. No problem here and there. No flaws that i can see. Well occasionally they'll play bss (broken social scene or summin in that effect) while I have herbie hancock on my station. So sometimes you have to see what they play and well get rid of it.
LastFM is like facebook/myspace kind of a thing. A social networking thing. Not a lot of people on jango. Enough to have a friend or two or some shit but not really people you want to talk to.
I really do like it. It's great. But lastfm has a great layout.
So anyone here who uses any of these... why and such? Like I'd love to move from jango back to lastfm but i got tired of listening to emo while i wanted to listen to jazz.
Are there any better online radio sites out there and shit? Like... yeah mp3s this and that. but sometimes I love connecting to my account and have my fav jazz tracks play while i'm at work w/o my mp3 player at my disposal. y'know.
