they should send the dvd for free not demand money for it ... do i smell EA booster packs |
Oh right. Obviously they should just GIVE you all the Collector's Edition stuf for free, right? Perhaps they should even pay for a new PC for you, hmm?
Don't be daft, dude. You're getting the Enhanced update for free -- you're paying 14.99 for the collector's stuff, that's all -- and even THAT is optional. |
you allready got that in the normal version (see picture), so why should you buy it again , you only miss the dvd with the patch that has the editor and 2 adventures
its more a rip off or a smart move from CD project to make those who pirated the game buy this that don't have the original serial to register and suck it |
Um, what the fuck are you smoking? Seriously.
Ok, I'll break it down for you .. real easy, like.
Scenario:
You have bought the original game when it first came out. Not the collectors version with the OST and artbooks, etc, etc. Just the normal game.
Solutions:
You can download the free enhanced update when it comes out and forgo the collectors items.
You can go out and purchase the brand new enhanced edition complete pack, wasting money needlessly.
You can buy this half-way pack, getting everything from the Collector Edition, but at less than half the price since you don't need to repurchase the game all over again.
NOT exactly rocket-science is it? You make everything out to sound like you're being conned somehow. You're not being conned. You've got a choice; Download the free update if you've already got (or don't want) the full pack -- purchase the pack --- or, and here's the beauty of it all ---- OR DON'T BUY A THING!
Jesus.
=Edit=
Oh and you do NOT get the map/OST/artbook/etc in the normal release of "The Witcher" - I know because I BOUGHT it. You only get that stuff in the "Collector's Edition" -- which CD Projekt is now offering at a massively reduced premium to owners of the original game.

And what would this be? The Witcher - Limited Edition.. The normal version does NOT have all that stuff.

its kinda a shock that CD-project pulled a stunt like that , because i though all boxed versions would be the same , just like bioshock and the artbook with big daddy

Spiderman, you're wrong, because there were 2 versions of this game in Poland - limited collectors edition (it was much more expensive and contained a lot of additional stuff) and the standard one.
As for the price, its publisher who determines it. You can see that developer of The Witcher is a company named CDProjekt. It also happens to be the biggest game publisher in Poland. Thats why they could afford releasing this game on a relatively low price in my country.
The rest of the world was the responsibilty of Atari so blame them for the price and lack of extras in the standard edition.

Wow. Ok, this is a first!! How many developers or publishers do YOU know that acknowledge their game was buggy as shit?

‘The Witcher’ game is better than ever before. No more bugs, no more problems, all the previous issues have been fixed, so that now you can play without the will to blow your head off. What’s more, it’s a multilingual version, so you can play in one of ten language version, according to your will. |
I can't wait for this!

I honestly don't know. It could well mean that, but it would be a guess on my part either way.

I just wish more companies would do this to their games insteed of leaving them for dead. Imagine what the makers of Vampires - Bloodlines could have done to the game got the same oppertunity?
Not saying they would if they didnt go bankrupted. But I'm sure that game could have been a classic if they polished it up as a new version, and gave it the same love as CDproject does to Witcher.

Well, Troika actually DID release a final patch for Bloodlines .... after they went bankrupt. They coded it in their spare time without getting paid for it. I guess there's only so much you can do.

Makes you wonder if their initial direction with the game was totally wrong in the first place.
