Ran into a neat little crash with this. I simply was trying to upgrade my drivers for my 8500Gt, Of course delete the driver first so I could upgrade to the most recent. Well, when i deleted the driver it took most of my Sys32 folder with it. Had to reinstall microshit windows XP on the Repair option to get back to my folders. Wouldn't even boot due to the damage done by the game. I had the 2nd upgrade and crack by VTY. Nice trick by microshit. so I'm just saying be careful. Now I have to use NastyFileRemover to get any drivers deleted.

old thread but who cares, I wanna play it over hamachi but after using hamachi fix i get the "to play gears of war please double-click startup-exe" error. Anyone know how to fix this? I've got 1.2 patch installed. i5-3570k @4.4gHz, MSI GTX 970 GAMING 4g OC'd, MSI z77a-g45, Corsair Vengeance 8gb 1600mHz, Corsair TX650 PSU, Crucial M4 128gb, WD 1.5 TB HDD, Seagate 1TB HDD, LG 27MB85R-B 1440p RSI name: ctulu

Im guessing youd need a new hamanchi fix to work with patch 1.2, or revert back to 1.1?? I recall reading somewhere that the hamanchi fix only works with 1.1.... I just wanna play lan over my computers in my house, do I need hamanchi for that?? I havent tried yet, but the plan so far is to install update 1.1 and ham fix and go from there.. UPDATE Just wanted to update this and letcha know Ive confirmed the 1.1 ham fix doesnt work with the 1.2 game patch.. Only way to use the ham fix is to stay with the 1.1 game fix.

the wargame fix that was made is only for 1.1/

I just wanted to let every know that I got this game working with on version 1.1 and my save games work, and works over LAN. I installed the game, then I used "internal" (the group who released the crack) Gears of War Update 1.1 w/ Hamachi Fix. the crack has the 1.1 patch and an application you load up and just choose to install the no cd/dvd crack and 'install hamachi fix", you can also change your name. this only works with patch 1.1 NOT 1.2, (not sure about 1.0 but best to use 1.1 anyway)
