@boundle -> please drop the steam theories.. its just showing that you don't appear to understand that this situation is not steam.. its not even close... to break it down.. here's a few scenarios...
scenario 1 - user has legit serial and original disk...
user installs, user activates, user plays....
scenario 2 - user has legit serial and a clone of the original disk...
user installs, user activates, user has a 50/50 of the game detecting emulation.. if it doesn't then the user can play, if it does then the user has to figure out how the detection is happening and find a way to circumvent it, or put in the original disk....
scenario 3 - user has some serial from somewhere thats public, and a clone of the original disk
user installs, user activates.. activation fails due to too many activations on that serial, or serial blacklisting, or (very remote possibility) the game activates.. even if this happens (doubtful), the user may still run the 50/50 on the game detecting emulation as described in scenario 2
scenario 4 - user has a cracked exe of the game (crack does not exist currently, so this is hypothetical)... and a clone of the original disk (or an iso.. doesn't really matter in this instance)
user installs, user copies over cracked exe, user runs the game... game probably works, but the crack could be bad due to the cracker missing some internal checks the game may (or may not) do.. similar in many ways to what happened with mass effect
i seriously hope that helps you (and possibly others) understand and maybe you'll no drop the steam nonsense?...

i know that this kind of activation online is not like the steam one also cause here u have to download nothing (maybe only something to decrypt .exe like for bioshock). anyway maybe is more like the halo 2 one? also this one have take time to get cracked and then only for vista also and not all crack are perfectly working on xp. for halo 2 there isn't a .exe file like crack but only a .dll. the protection of this is not only into paul.dll so i think is not sufficient to crack a simply .dll file to make it work and also the halo 2 method go rule out though

erm theres nothing downloaded except a decryption key.. bioshock downloaded the entire exe, as i mentioned previously...
so now you're comparing this to halo 2?.. the file type (exe or dll) really does not matter.. protection is protection, the file its applied to is just moot...
and sure it'll probably get cracked, sure its a matter of time.. everything is just a matter of time... but, instead of spending that time posting wild guesses and hopping from one opinion (steam) to another (now halo2), perhaps spending the time to educate yourself about the protections etc might be time better spent than posting wild guesses and conjecture

DTR 2 had SF3 protection ... didn't get cracked as more SF3 games in those days.
but let me quote:

Exactly what the name says. You got a beef about those nasty little blocks of code. Here's your 'I wanna kill them' place |

@ Brisk
SF3 was the first. the second i had read that the russian version had SF3 but the european had an online activation or a license to get. also theatre of war was with online activation and cd key to validate. for theatre of war i have read this on a site of download:" activation is limited to 10 computers / key - so its autoblacklisted now. guess thats why no one can get it to work. ah well i'll still get it for when a crack comes out." "game checks key online and wont let you do it without an internet connection. so no crack no play".
so it is the more similar at this one protection and ever got crack. fortunately there are only a few cases but there are. i hope that this one don't go to make the same end of this

I gave in and bought it some days ago. Finished it yesterday, after 4 days (~14h, all roots destroyed). When I played it first I thought "whoa this really sucks". Took me alot of time and trial and error to get used to the sucky controls. Played till end of Chapter 2. I died dozens of times not knowing what the fuck just hit me. Then I noticed my brightness/gamma/contrast settings were far from optimal. After a bit of tweaking and re-playing the game in my head I started a new game later that day and it was already better. Played till Chapter 4 and somewhere there it got me completely hooked. Those 40 bucks were definitely not wasted. Graphically, the X360 version seems to have more bloom and less aliasing, this is what I have noticed in the various gameplay vids, but the PC Version is a lot sharper. There is not such a big difference as said a few pages before.
Once mastered, and this can take a very long time the controls are good. I played with the x360 pad and the biggest problem I had is that the "A" button has so many functions it gets messy all the time. Its hard to set a trail on fire if Carnby keeps picking up stuff and bodies because its all on the same button. I never had any problems hitting the enemies with objects by moving the right stick this worked perfectly from the beginning and I dont know why everybody is bitching about that..
The ending is very confusing and disappointing, I was kinda hoping for a boss fight but there is only some dialogue and a useless decision, it reminded me of Kane&Lynch and left me with a bad taste. But at the end I must say, the good definitely outweighs the bad. I loved the puzzles. If you like Tomb Raider, Penumbra, collecting/searching objects, playing around with physics and can suffer a bit, this game should be good for you.
I would personally give it 83% because I adore that stuff mentioned above. More objectively, I have to agree with the Gametrailers review, that was 73%.

Its not cracked because Atari has a though financial situation this year and all they founds where put into this project , so if ti fails Atari will be no more . Its the same like with "Sam and Max" or "Insecticide" (yeah i know Vace made a release of this fun and origianl game)

the only rason that the game is not cracked yet is only for the protection that is a wall of iron. all online activations are hard to get crack more this one or steam. for steam is possible make extracted files or homemade isos but for this one no. guys that think that is not cracked cause Atari have payed crackers to not crack it cause they are in bankrupt have just to wake up. rld, vty o rzr crack everythink they are able to crack. it can be also not the first ever cracked game anyway. look at theatre of war or dead to rights 2 both with online activation and then bioshock just cracked only for a knock of luck from a guy out of the scene (Darkcoder)
