Ok, listen up!
I'm going to address some rumors about this game right here and now. It's unbelievable how fast people's opinions spread on this forum.
First, no, the game doesn't have some form of "macroprotection" that bogs the game down! They're called bugs people, watch for a patch soon as the Bach-mission crash bug ruins the game for everyone.
Second, I loved this game so much, I bit the bullet and went out and bought it this afternoon after class (first game I've liked enough to buy since Deus Ex 1). And guess what happened after the Bach mission? CRASH!
This was after uninstalling Alcohol, Damon Tools, and the previous installation of the "acquired" version of VtM:B, and wiping the registry clean.
So yes, it happens in retail too and no, it doesn't have some crazy Fade protection.
Oh, and BTW, it's just as buggy in the retail.

Whats it like, you got alot of freedom? |
The game is wonderful (if you get past all the bugs, a nice big patch should do the trick). You have a LOT of freedom. If you ever played Deus Ex 1 and liked it (how couldn't you?), you're in for a treat w/ Vampires. It's a mix of DX1 a little Thief-style gameplay (depends on your clan), and a good old-fashioned A+ RPG set in a dark, very creepy vampire universe. Tons of quest, tons of ways to complete each one, open-ended, multiple endings, the best voice-acting I've heard in ages (especially Jack's voice), and 8-playable clans (out of the 13 total clans from the official White Wolf rules, I wish they would've added the others) means TONS of replayability.
BTW, the game took me approx 20 hours to play but I used God mode to whip through the game and see the main story unfold as quick as possible (how I play all my games through the first time). And it was definitely a treat. If you don't use God mode, it's easily a 40 - 60 hours worth of playtime.

How?Using 'map dt_hub_1' spawns you in town without equipment and stats. Do I have to edit everything later with give itemname for every item i had and giftxp for stats? And how about ingame variables(set upon completion on every quest) are they transfered? |
Yes, that's exactly what I did, and yes, you lose everything unfortunately. If you want to play legit w/o cheating though, note down all your stats, humanity, and weapons + items and use the console to give yourself everything back. It sucks ass... but if you're too impatient for a patch (like I was), you really have no other choice.

There does seem to be a way to avoid this game-stopping crash at the Bach mission.
Read what smoret posted
And my post count seems to have restarted. Oh well, I didn't have many posts anyways.
Thank you, n00bCentral, for checking that out.

For everyone's info...
about the C++ Runtime Error: check what LeonX from Troika says about it.
about the crash-to-desktop, here's a little proof that it's not just the pirated version right here.
No problem Charnel. I'd recommend buying this game to anyone who liked Deus Ex... and I know Activision and Troika will have no choice but to release a patch, that crash-to-desktop doesn't allow you to finish the game. People wont like paying 60 bucks for a half-working game.

How do I use my seduction skill? I had hoped I could save some money and seduce some hookers. So far I do not get the seduction option at level 5 when speaking to them.

the seduction feat only gives you additional selections in conversations with certain characters.

*SPOILER*
In the same room where you defeat him, there is a door that lead to the sewers :=)

In the sewers you walk around for ages (it's the most sucky part of the game) and look for the Nosferatu.
Eventually you'll find them after wading through hordes of Warghouls.

for all those like me who really want a no-cd crack for this game, well you can just use this for now..:
http://dl.gamecopyworld.com/?d=2004&f=Vampire_The_Masquerade_Bloodlines_MI!rar
note: they are not really no-cd cracks, but i find them even better. image files that are very small and yes, have to be mounted to launch the game but now you don't have to mount a whole image (690MB) and you also don't need the cd in drive. so it's basically no-cd, but image mount required patch. saves me space though...

Which exact settings do I need to check, etc. to burn Vampire the masquerade:Bloodlines vng release CD1 using Alcohol?? I know it is in the nfo but i am still unsure which settings when I am at the burn menu. Which write method do I choose,RAW SAO+SUB? Or another? Do I check "Don't close the last session of current disc",do I check "Rectify Sub-Channel Data",and do I check "Burn "RMPS" to recordable media" as well? Could someone who has successfully burned this and gotten it to work please tell me? :/
