id software is executive producing this title (same as they did with Quake4), Raven software is developing it, and yes, it is coming to the PC too.

id software is busy developing their new IP, which has nothing to do with Doom, Wolfenstein, or Quake.

Amen.

A bit off topic, but wasn't Raven the developer behind the Soldier of Fortune series? God, I wish a developer had the balls to implement as much gore as they did back then today. They've all been castrated by money grubbing conservative publishers Sad

Eh, how is it good that Raven is developing it? Look what they did with Q4! It wasn't that bad, but OMG it was so pale in comparison with D3.

Yep, it was Raven who developed the Soldier of Fortune games and I too loved them for their stark portrayal of blood and gore Very Happy

I didnt think Q4 was boring. I thought it was actually pretty damn good. I often found myself mesmerised by the complex and inventive map design and scripting. Raven havent made a bad game yet in my opinion. Hexen has to be my favourite and its about time they remade it or made a 3rd game. Having said that I know of a total conversion in the works using the Doom3 engine Very Happy

New screens. Smile
(Even more of that supernatural stuff, albeit there was quite a bit of that in the older titles as well, even the first Wolfenstein 3D and it's expansion Spear of Destiny.)

What the fuck are you on about ? Wolfenstein games are remembered for their single-player.

Maybe the first game, but MP was what made RtCW so popular.

You sure you don't mean some of the mods for it, Enemy Territory to be a bit more specific. Smile

EDIT: Seems you meant the original after all, can't remember much about it's multiplayer to be honest but wasn't it very similar to Day of Defeat?
(EDIT: Which means it was probably popular as DoD was popular even before it went retail.)

ET is a spin-off of RtCW. A standalone game that took RtCW MP and upgraded it. Both were extremely popular in competition and pubs.

Did you guys even play RtCW multiplayer ? I think not.

I'm not saying the SP was bad, but I would have bought it for MP only..which I did to get a legit key Razz

Even id knows MP is the main thing RtCW fans want:

From the Activision Blizzard event

Quote:
[8:16] Hollenshead says the game will stick to the heavy multiplayer emphasis of previous Wolfenstein games.
