my god.. it will be such a change to actually play a fun video game again on the computer.. with a nice story and shit to get you into it.. rather than beta test and unninstall it while being frustrated that your power rig can handle anything but has nothing to handle..

neverwinter nights 2 was the last rpg that i really enjoyed, but was forced to play at ultra-shit-low settings.. and that was years ago..

im happy as fuck they kept the game we all love, the way we loved it, and just tweaked the shit out of it to enjoy it even more..

even if you idiots babble on about blocks n globes n whatnot.. EVERYONE OF YOU WILL PLAY THIS FOR WEEKS!!!.. that's the truth and you know it Smile

SC2, D3... bring it on!

Weeks? Hell, if it is like Diablo II it will be years worth of gaming for me. i dare say Diablo II is the most replayed game I have owned or at least in the top 3.

After Titan Quest i cant wait for D3. Didnt think I would get so hooked to an arpg but the excitement of finding rare loot and bashing monsters and seeing them fly up in the air is so much fun. Hopefully D3 will have abit more variety than Titan Quest, I know I will play if for many months. And i usually never ever play games I've finished but with d3 ill probably go through the difficult settings and try and beat the game on all of em, if the game has replay value which im sure it will have.
Just the urge to see the d3 gameplay video once a day makes me think this will be the game to play and lose sleep, friends, girl/boyfriend, work etc over.

IMO TQ has awesome variety. From rocky Greece landscapes, to deep forests, to deserts and oasises, to snowy mountain peaks, to dark and nasty caves, to lava and fire filled hellholes. Many classes and you can combine two of them for even more customization.

Yeah, but the maps are all based on the same idea. Come to a new area, explore to find a few caves, kill all in sight finish the side quests which usually means killing a mini-boss in a cave or some remote location. And then continue to the next map and do the same thing all over again. Im in Egypt now, in Memphis (been lookin for an egyptian Elvis everywhere but so far no luck Razz) and on my way to the pyramids. Will be fun and hopefully I'll get my hands on sexy new gear...

LOL Titan Quest is dead boring compared to Diablo. Very few quests, boring story, few types of monsters, not a lot of special enemies & bosses, repetitive as hell.

I gave Titan Quest a long try, and another time with the expansion, it was nice and all, but what really bothered me was that combat just felt sluggish. D2 just is a lot quicker, thats why I never finished TQ.

Doesn't it have many types of monsters? MORE quests than diablo? A special enemy / boss in every cave? If I remember correct.

And who cares about story in an ARPG?

TQ has shit load of quests and combat is very fast paced, dunno what other guys are talking about maybe they played it for 1 minute. After I maxed my warrior skills and got some phat lewt his attack speed was crazy as fuck, enemies dropping like flies. Gameplay in TQ is great.

Yeah TQ is great, has loads of loot and enemies to kill. Just the maps that feel the same. Starts slow with alot of grinding killing birds but when you get to egypt the pace pics up and you start seeing real interesting loot.

Wish Id play D2 when it was out, but wasnt a fan of rpgs back then...

And the skill system of TQ adds a lot of variety i think. 45 Different Classes, if i counted right.
To the speed, only the beginning is sluggish and slow.

Did you multiplay 9 x 8 ?
Thats not exactly right, because first, you dont need to combine 2 masteries. And 9x9 is wrong as well, you count some options twice.
You can count here http://www.titancalc.com/ Smile

Can you add a third mastiry in TQ: IT? Or are you stuck on the ones you've chosen?

You're stuck. Stuck sounds so negative, though Neutral
You get to choose the first after the first level up and the second mastery at level 9 i think.

Actually just looked at http://titanquestvault.ign.com/static.php?page=classes and took away the dream + dream etc.

But yeah didn't notice they had classes 2 times there.

But dream + dream is a valid class Smile Means you just take one mastery

I found TQ boring, even with the expansion. The first few minutes I was actually pleasantly surprised, but 10'ish hours in or so I just got more and more bored. It was a combination of many things, really; no good atmosphere, boring enviroments/maps, slower pace than D2, killing things isn't as fun, even with selecting two masteries you still don't have as many or as varied skills as a single class in D2( much thanks to so many skills just modifying existing skills), etc., etc. In short it's just yet another clone that fail to improve on most of the features of the original. Good effort though, maybe the best clone out there. Can't remember how good Sacred was.

well i installed again Loki some days ago... and it's time to delete it again..
it's grinding over and over again with nothing else to do...the hacking'n'slashing is not as fun as it uses to be in TQ

there are almost no quests... the environment is dull and repeatable as hell (random generated..from 2-3 presets..)- and the skills progression and skills diversity are mediocre. Certain monsters and chars look nice, the armors and weapons are shiny and nicely done, but the environment art is ..well.. boring.. not to mention that the item types are far from TQ's
(to add that i actually waited with great anticipation Loki, and it was the greatest action rpg disappointment after Mage Knight: Apocalypse Rolling Eyes )

So yeah - Titan quest is the closest i guess- it's the closest thing to Diablo III as well Laughing

personnaly i found loki to be a bitter disappointment. In pretty much every aspect. Graphics were ugly (except your own character maybe), bad skill system (heck, i don't think i used any skills till level 15 or something, just clicking left mouse , rinse and repeat), the "randomized" zones with enemies in unreachable places, and all square etc. Nowhere close to the quality of TQ (and the expansion, which added a lot of fun imo). But then again, opinions are personal .

Excact same feelings.

I believe the main reason why TQ failed is the lack of centralized servers like battle.net. There are also a lot of combinations of characters although a bit too many, imo. I also found some skills not so usefull and some others too powerful(lich king). I think the best would be 4-5 main characters with combinations, adding dream in IT. And I would love to have gear that increases rare loot drops Very Happy
