Id be really happy if someone could give me some suggestions on games that are like Silent Storm. Would be a big plus if it works on Vista.

Thanks in advance

UFO: Enemy Unknown (X-Com in the US). Use Dosbox though.

Jagged Alliance 2. Get the unofficial 1.13 patch that is still being developed by the community: http://ja2v113.pbwiki.com/.

Only thing I can think of right now, off the top of my head, is maybe 'Soldiers: heroes of world war 2' and its less polished sequels. They aren't the same style of game but they are reminiscent at times. Stretching out a bit further I'm looking at Commandos or Desperado's... but again they aren't the same sort of game. I'd be interested to hear some suggestions also.

Hammer and Sickle. A bit more stealth required in that game though.

Maybe all the new ufo games that came the last few years. Some of them are decent.

Nothing is like it. There are tons of turn based games out there, but none of them really compare to silent storm because of the destructible environment.
The ability to create your own door and the physics are what make the game fun.

They need to make a sequel and make a few more games with a new engine.

Feels like I played all there is :/

Played all the new UFO games, played hammer & sickle, played commandos.

crossmr: Well I don't care that much about the destroyable enviroments, just wanting a nice tactical turn based game Smile

Fallout Tactics.

Most people hated it for not being "fallouty", but despite that, it's still a good squad-tactics game.

Most people hated it for not being an RPG. Despite this, the people that accepted it for what it was says it's not too bad for a squadtactics game.

Anyone found a way to run the Silent Storm games in Vista and/or with high-end GFX cards? Whenever I tried running it I just got a message saying something about my video card not being supported.

Hmm seems like I played all the ones recommended here except from desperado. Gonna take a look on that one I think, thanks for the games even if I already played most of them.

There is also Brigade E5 but it uses something called smart pause and is therefore not turn based.

7.62mm that krackhead mentioned is the "sequel" to Brigade E5.

Shadow company: Left for dead

A great game that didn't gain much popularity for an unknown reason. Was ahead of its time.
