Playing through the majority of both the Xbox 360 and PC versions of Alone in the Dark brings a startling revelation -- despite its many flaws the game can be enjoyable. Between the two however, the PC version can be much more frustrating than its console counterpart. While the PC allows for precise aiming in first-person mode (while the Xbox 360 aids players with an auto-aim feature) the combat is clunky and complex. Alone in the Dark tries to do too many things at once and while it succeeds in some ways, the areas in which it fails make the experience feel broken. It isn't a bad game but its steep is a result of poor design decisions rather than intentional challenge. Regardless of which platform you choose keep in mind that Alone in the Dark greatly benefits from a game controller but even then it can be a frustrating battle of trial and error.

I bought the game and the X360 controller resolves all the problems in the PC version: it's fully recognized and automatically configured, also the auto-aim is included.

I can't figure why PC users still hate the joypads... Rolling Eyes

It's not a masterpiece because it could be better, but it's a good game: IMO 7,5/10. Smile

Logitech Rumblepad 2 >>>> 360 controller

So with that in mind does the game recognize the RP2 ? Very Happy . I know that Mass Effect and Splinter Cell Double Agent don't but GOW (after some tweaking cuz the default controls are FUBAR) and Assassin Creed do so i'm wondering about AITR.

maybe the scene is better this way to let shoppers buy games instead of just releasing the cracks so fast, the companies loses money for shoppers just downloading instead of buying it
but on the other hand if most games don't get enough support its not worth the buy this question can never be answered.

It would be interesting to see how not a single game cracked for like a year could impact PC gaming.

I doubt sales would go up much if at all. In fact it may have a reverse effect and hurt the hardware companies as less people would feel the need to upgrade. It may even help console unit sales and console piracy.

ive allways thought console piracy would dramatically increase if PC gaming didnt exsist. flashing a console is getting more and more popular, the last thing devolopers and publishers would want is tech minded ppl using a console and flashing anyone and everyones console for a fiver.

Another review to let go of all the crack anticipation. You wouldn't want this on your hard drive, would you?
