So, as you can see, VALVe Software have released a test "warez" version aimed at catching people out. These people will have their accounts deleted and will be banned from Steam.
Therefore, I strongly suggest that you DO NOT participate in these illegal activities as it would only lead to your own harm.
VALVe Software spent over $40 Million to develop Half-Life 2. Show them you appreciate their work. Buy the game!
As the saying goes: BURN YOU WAREZ MONKEYS!
Spread the word!

The ending was disappointing, they didn't reveal enough. They don't even tell you who the combine are ffs!
*spoiler*
I know it's obvious the grunts are humans who have been genetically spliced with alien DNA but we get no info about their origins, their plans for humanity, their leaders, where their technology is from, how they enslaved the xen aliens, NOTHING!
Pisses me off a bit, especially the Gman dipshit coming in at the end saying;
"oh thx for that, btw i'm going to pimp you to some mates of mine, but while you wait i'll shove you ginger ass back in stasis".

Its pretty silly.
I just finished it tonight. I thought the game was like a big budget movie with substance. I was thoroughly impressed and though im and id bitch, HL2 was a better game than doom 3, by far. Textures werent comparable and neither was the lighting, but overall a nicer picture quality, way better gameplay and a much better story. The ending was one of the best ive seen in a game or movie ever. Fantastic game.

Did you mean the scripted sequence at the end was too short or the gameplay at the end was too short? I honestly felt that the abrupt ending was such an attack on stupid game story lines prior. SPOILER ALERT
There was no running out of the building and getting the girl. The girld didn't slowly die in front of your eyes which lead you to vengeance. It was the perfect ending for the game I found. I would have liked to got some insight where the next game was going, because its obvious there will be a third.
If you meant the scripted ending with Gman talking, I definately agree. I would have liked a little more, a full couple of minutes, or maybe to hear gordon talk, that would have been orgasmic.

It was too short imho. The game was fucking unbelievable. I think they should have done a better layout for in the buggy and maybe some nicer controls, that thing kinda pissed me off. I didn't really expect much, but I got a lot, and Valve gets some praise from me for that. I really felt it was a good game. I was in tears of joy at the end because it really was a great ending.

Well, you're setting yourself up to fall when you get excited about shit like that, it's a game, it will never be as good as you think it is going to be.

Great game but the loading times detroys the immersion too much imho, they're too often (and too long)... it's not as bad as deus ex 2 (which was _totaly_ unplayabe because of this) but it's still pretty bad i think.

Even though the game is short it's harsh to complain considering the variety and quality of the levels. Also, new features were added as you played through such as the gravgun, the bugbait, squads etc so it always kept things fresh and exciting. It was also nice that Valve did a good job of retaining the feel of the original.
I'm not that bothered about the length because I know I'll play through it a couple more times at least.
I thought the story has been decent so far. It does raise more questions than it answers but did anyone really expect anything else? It's also very good at explaining the need for Gordon to travel through so many different areas so contributes to the gameplay.
Anyway, this has to be the best FPS ever. If upcoming games such as STALKER and FEAR are anywhere near as varied and interesting as this I would be surprised.
Im a cockfag

some of the earlier explosions were good, mostly when walking through the canals. and i thought the ending sucked, it shoulda gopne on for another 5 missions at least. And i felt the end level has no comparison with HL. HL actually has a boss not some lasers that u need throw some balls at.

Yeah I couldn't believe it either. I was at least expecting some slightly better looking textures or even HL2's models but it's the same low-poly stuff. It's better to just stick with the original, waste of time unfortunately.

are you mad? those first levels are filled with scripted life! you have everything people walking... arguing... doin this... doing that! et fucking cetra other levels are more action based! |
It's very Half-Life though (obviously ), and it hasn't progressed into a living enviroment, it's still heavily scripted and events are triggered. That's a shame and detracts somewhat from the atmosphere I feel.
Not that I ain't 100% satisfied with the game.
