Try to stay on topic people.

p.s. the topic is Alone in the Dark, not lolcats or guessing when a working crack arrives.

p.p.s. Don't post links to cracks or fake cracks.

Okay I bought this game for the PC three days ago cause I love this genre + I really enjoyed AiTD 4.
What a waste of 45 euro.

I don't think I ever played a new game this short, probably 25/30 minutes... haven't started it since.
Can't remember playing a game with crappier gameplay.... it's unplayable.

Good things
- Seriously... I can't think of anything

Bad things
- Having to switch between first and third person whole time..stupid.
- Terrible key binding options (inventory, movement, car bindings are linked together so you get all kinds of messages that the key is already used for another action), resulting in not being able to create my favorite keybinding combination.
- Walking around in first person is lame as mouse responds bad.. not smooth at all, playing in third person is even lamer.. it's like the guy is drunk, can't walk around normal.
- I walk faster when i'm asleep, terribly slow gameplay.
- Having to use the elements of fire is fun... sometimes! not when it's a requirement.

all of the above is my boring opinion, probably loads of people that enjoy it,
so try it yourself

You're sooo right. Hopeless and frustrating gameplay

btw i heard many issues and complains about the in-game controls. will it be fixed if i use a xbox 360 controller for this?

I think it would be easier to hack the revoke tool than the game itself, so you could be able to use the activated version once with one legit serial at many computers.

heh don't you understand what the revoke tool does?

it removes the fucking registration activation data from the pc and from the main server, which makes your copy then not activated...

/me takes your idea and throws it in the bin and says 'next'....

Alone in the Dark has a revoke tool? Nice, because Mass Effect still doesn't have one.

(I think it was also mentioned earlier in this thread.)

And yeah, all games using this form of protection should have similar utilities released for convenience sake. (Upgrading or changing hardware and whatever that can cause you to loose one of the available activation attempts.)

I guess this ultra high protection didn't pay well , huh?
no demo + negative reviews = no sales

there's been plenty of other games released without demo's... negative reviews do harm sales however...

and if the game is crap, people wont buy it, i don't think thats related to the protection in any way though....

the bit i cant understand is how atari didn't 'see' the crap controls and see that it ruins the game....

if a gamer sees a negative to average review he's gonna want to test the game himself and with no demos around he's definitly saving his 60$ for something that has Postive reviews everywhere

but 3/10 is
13/20 is average and no that good

it differs from a reviewer to another but the majority are negative

Wow, I didn't even realise this was released yet. Marketing department = fail. On the plus side it means I didn't have to suffer the pain of actually playing it, thanks guys.

don't know about you, but i can't get a game feeling just of a demo, i need full game.
i will only buy a game with good online gameplay or with the feeling of playing the single player camp again and again and i don't know many games that answer to this parameters.

let me tell you, i finished half life 2 with the pirate version way befor i pay for legal copy.
so...i say..let the people check the product and probably, if you did something good, people will come to support.
just think of paying for all the crap that came only during the last few months like the incredible hulk and othere.

what a days Smile

well of course for us pirates we play pirated games instead of demos but in this case , no demos , no pirated copies + bad reviews
any wise buyer want to test the product before buying it
few videos as many as they are is still not enough , gotta try the real thing
of course if you really like a game and love it you want to keep its boxset and stuff so you go out and buy it , it's better than ISO and stuff that takes HDD space
