7/10

Martial arts ghost busters!! i really enjoyed it... it was funny and cool... a nice story, tha was let down only by an ending that made no sense what so ever (film sets up specific rules, and then completely ignores them for the last 2 minutes...), and the fights werent choreographed very well... the film wasnt really about the fighting, so it can be forgiven, but it really would have pushed the film up to an 8/10 for me if they had been really well done.

Wanted - 7/10

It was pretty good..... Some really nice sequences and ideas, ok acting, but it just felt like it was a bit scrambled together. I think my money would have been better spent on Wall-E

The Ruins (Unrated) - 8/10

I have been ignoring this movie for a week expecting some typical monster CGI crap. But finally I saw it today and WOW movie turned out to be a sick gore fest FX and there were no hmm... "monsters". Highly recommended, especially if you liked The Descent(it is 10/10 for me).

Not everyone likes high budget movies like Transformers Laughing

I'd take a lot of low budget movies over high budget movies any day.

yeah, a 'low budget' does not automatically go hand in hand with a crappy film... i guess he just hated it because it was subtitled and had 'them damn foreigners' in it. oh, if only it had maaaatt daaamon in it, eh? Very Happy

Really cool concept sorta.

Hell Boy 7/10
Had a flair of "Return to Castle Wolfenstein" about it.

Hulk (2008 one Smile ) : 7/10 ... finally i have had the opportunity to watch it, well if i have to tell the truth the first part totally bored me, a story seen a bit of times nearly got me falling asleep, then when the special effects, battles and the little variations in the story initiated i had quite a bit of fun, a discrete movie.

The Forbidden Kingdom - 5/10

Felt like a chinese LOTR which for me wasn't a good place to start. Disappointing to say the least considering the actors involved. Actually I think it was that matchup of big name stars that held the movie back. I mean you can't have one being billed above the other can we? Which leads to Jackie Chan's and Jet Li's names appearing together in the credits. And they have to be shown to be equally matched in a fight. They got it spot on in the film when they said 'two tigers cannot live on the same mountain'. Jackie Chan didn't add anything to the movie and looked out of place. And that Ralph Macchio wannabe was thrown in just to pander to american audiences.

That's what you get when you try to cram in too many cliches from 80s martial arts movies into one movie.

As I said, throwing in a LOT of references to old martial arts movies (like the drunken master movies or 'the witch, the one born of wolves') does not make a good martial arts movie. Maybe you weren't around to see those movies when they came out but they (the good ones atleast) kick the ass of these cgi/wirework kung-fu movies.

Stop Loss 2/10 - Only reason this caught my interest was because of Joseph Gordon-Levitt, who turned out to only have a small role in this movie. The movie deals with something called "stop lossing", where soldiers are re-enlisted after their tour of duty against their will. However, unlike movies like "Rendition" and "In The Valley of Elah", this movie fails at exploring the issue, it's all superficial, and even though it feels like this movie is going somewhere, everything is null and void at the end.

True. But I like to explain why I liked/disliked a particular movie beyond saying that this movie was 'super awesome' or 'worst movie ever'.

Examining movies while watching does not mean people do not enjoy them. Heck, I do it all the time and it does not make movies any less enjoyable for me.

Excellent movie, only bad thing is that i've got problem making out who is who in asian movies. Nothing to do with racism, they all just look the same to me Sad
