The poor casting choices for this movie are ultimately going to ruin it.

Bravura in the movie.
Its a fucking disgrace.
Edit: Not sure if this is accurate, but its apparently the adapted storyline for the movie Spoiler: | Max is a detective in the NYPD in the mid 1990s. His wife and two 8 your old twin daughters are shot one summer in a drive-by attack by a gang of Mexicans. The murder was never solved. Six years later, Max is now a washed up cop working for the DEA and has a drug addicition. He is drawn to a case concerning a cocaine deal about to take place in a subway. Max goes undercover with his partners Alex Balder, Detective Amerini and Detective Owen and they desguise themselves as mobsters. The mexicans wipe them out and Max is left to take the fall for it all. Max finds one drug dealer alive named Judas (cameo by Sam Lake) and he tells him that they went to their highly expensive condo to hide. Max then meets Mona there ( who is searching for her sister's killer) and they team up. They meet a limousine driver working for the mexican's leader, and he says that a man named Lupino is spying on them. They murder Lupino but before he dies he says that he is working for Nicole Horne. The duo follow Horne to a nearby mall and kill her. They find out that she is working for a man named Jason Colvin. They kill Colvin in his mansion. Mona dies in a shootout in the mansion. That is the end. Max then finds out that the media believes that he is the killer and that BB was actually the man behind the operation and that BB killed his family because he was jelaous of Max's success. Max kills BB. Max is then arrested by Jim Bravura. |

I find that hard to believe. It sounds like the story was adapted by a fucking crackhead on an acid trip.

Not according to this:
Spoiler: | Link for download is here... http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0467197/board/nest/109271654
Look for yourself.
Guys n gals heres a rundown of whats in and whats not.
-It's the first game basically with extra Mona and some other characters/things thrown in.
-Lots of violence and bloody descriptions, but i guess that's getting trimmed for PG-13.
-Jack Lupino...He's cool. He's covered in tattoos. The Nightmare scenes are very present in the script. Black Angels etc.
-Project Valhalla is very present and important. Therefore Valkyrie is in the movie.
-He does the Max Payne dive.
-There's a sexual brushoff between Max and Mona's sister Natasha.
-Vinnie Gognitti is in there but merely a cameo.
-Ragna Rok is in there.
-Aesir is in there.
HOWEVER...
-Doesn't sound like it has the Noir elements rocking!
-No Vlad...only Russian connection is Mona and her sister.
-No Pills...sorry! he pops something but they aint pills.
-No voice-overs. Only at Beginning and the End.
-No baseballbat boy or TV shows..but they could be added during production to be honest.
-There's little to no swearing at all, only mild "bastards" and "sh!ts"
-Under 100 pages...Sounds a bit rushed.
-No real payoffs for Mona and Horne etc
It is Max Payne, i know this because it reads like the first game...key moments, places, characters etc...but until i see some evidence that the visual style and music was retained...this could be any regular cop movie.
Feel free to ask more questions... |
This version sounds way better so let's just believe this.

i read this shit too , it's so far fetched from the script you couldnt believe it , names match but the plot here is so fucked up and not to mention the script is dated 8/24/2007 , so it's impossible to rewrite the whole fucking thing so differently/badly.
and don't get me started on how generic this shits sounds..

Tom Cruise would play an awesome Max Payne. I just watched him in Collateral and he's pretty badass in it.
its too bad how they're gonna pick a gay ass cast and fuck up the whole movie.

Are you kidding? He looks nothing like a hell-bent cop going on revenge. No make-up job or prosthetics can fix that, sorry Tom.

EDIT: with voice-over from James McCaffrey (original Max Payne voice).
Too bad movie producers only care about famous faces. |
How about this actor: Clive Owen
http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0654110/mediaindex
He played in Sin City
