Yes I would too but since vivendi, valve and steam truly seems to have challanged the wits of our dear/"late dear" crackers, a proper release might just take some time... How long are you ready to wait before playing the otherwise much available HL2? =)

If people could wait this long for it to come out after the first delay (over a year ago) they shuld be able to wait for a real release. Sadly people these days are way to impatient. Just look at fotball manager 2005, it's a perfect example that shows how impatient people are.

I'm sure that even if you would have to change some code for the game to work people would try to do it just to be able to play, even if they have no clue how.

I can wait a few days... two weeks maybe. I have more than enough games to finish already. Hitman Contracts, Rome, Full Spectrum Warrior, Panzers. I did not even install Doom 3 downloaded some time ago Smile

Well, kind of. You know, I am not such a game freak to play and have them all NOW. As I'have written some time ago - the thrill of downloading and waitning is much better than actually playing the game Smile

*ehum*, so once JeanLuc_s stopped reading, i do have a slight problem with the old crack, a couple of times now i have received the "could not acquire necessary game files because the connection to steam servers was lost." message, and then hl2 shuts down. i cannot even load an old game because once i hit the "load game"-button that message shows up.

did you actually need to let the game connect at first? i blocked it in my firewall so there hasn't been any connection at all.

as i said i've had that message a couple of times, previously i've just restarted the game and continued playing, or even waited 10 minutes and played for a couple of hours without problem.
emporio's and Half.Life.2.EMPORiO.FIX-ape is all i've installed.
i'm currently on chapter 9 (i think)

This game is worth it! They've put millions of dollars to make this game the best, and they succeeded. Even beyond expectations. People can be such scammers these days.

I know of one reason. For quite a lot of people, the autosave causes the game to pause for a second and then makes the audio stutter a bit.

can you quit it with these posts. you and others are cluttering the thread... maybe if the thread read "Half Life 2 - Store Bought Version" and people were talking about the cracked one i would understand. so unless you have something constructive to say please refrain from posting here thanks.

That is exactly why i want it turned off...coz when it autosaves my game pauses and the sound stutters...so that is my reason for asking....anyone know how?? Confused

Hmm i got the iso on my pc , i apply the repack client.dll and overwrite the original and still i get the error message that the game cant connect blah blah , then i put back the original dll and use the original ape fix and same exact thing happens..so dunno what i am doing wrong.

don't use the ape repack that one is useless its only an patcher instead of the actual dll file. just use the first ape fix version

Haven't d/l HL² yet 'cuz I wanna buy this shit... and 'cuz it WASN'T working...

Is this patch true or bullshit?

It's dated 11/17/04...
The name of the file: HL2NoSteamPatch.exe
Size: 321.894 bytes

I'm affraid of some bad script or sumthin'....
