I just encountered a bug that basically wiped out all my progress i had made after playing for like 10 hours today. I played as Serbia all day and built up a pretty decent economy. If you decrease your interest rate you get an instant increase in your GDP, but also high inflation, while if you increase the interest rate you get a reduction to your GDP but also inflation. So anyway, i was playing and decided to lower my interest rate to zero to help pay off my debt more quickly, and then i figured i would increase it again after the debt was gone to lower the inflation. But then i also got invaded by another country and had to mobilize my army, which caused my budget to go into a deficit, which my fucking traitor finance minister seemed to go all apeshit over so she resigned. Despite the fact that i had no choice since we were being invaded.
This caused the interest rate to go back to its standard level since you can't change it if you don't have a finance minister, which caused my GDP to drop back to its original low level. then after i hired a new finance minister and lowered the interest rate back, my economy didn't go back to the level it was before my previous finance minister resigned, which meant i had lost like 50% of my GDP which i couldn't get back now. And i had already saved and overwritten my old save that was at a point before my previous finance minister resigned, so there was no going back. So now i basically lost my entire fucking day's progress! And the game is still pretty buggy. You get the occasional CTD. but it's MUCH better than the French version. Everything seems to work a lot better than the French version, and the game is highly playable, apart from bugs like the one i got today, and a few others. I still recommend buying it. It's fun as fuck. And they'll probably patch it as they go along. I also learned a ton while playing today which i can apply when i start as a new country tomorrow.
Gigabyte S-Series GA-G33-DS3R, Intel C2D Quad Q6600 OC @ 3.2Ghz, 4gb Kingston PC8500 1066Mhz DDR2, Geforce 7800GTX (will get a 9800GTX when they are released), 2 x 250Gb HD's and a case with built in paper and lotion dispenser.

Wow that really sucks Serben. Why the hell do you need a finance minister anyways? I would just take what they say as advice and not always listen to them... I can understand them being able to resign which is realistic but not being able to make decisions by yourself is just bullshit its not like the minister left with the whole treasury staff.

Played both, Supreme Ruler seems more like a GAME than G.P.S so far...the game is just so awkwardly made, it feels wrong...not to mention the half-assed translation, and for me atleast, like 4 missing cities from my country. (Israel)
I'll give it some more playing time but Supreme Ruler feels so much better for now.

That's bureaucrats for you
I'm afraid that it's time for you to drop the gloves , execute your entire cabinet for treason , declare yourself dictator for life , build some nukes and chemical/bilological weapons (with forced labor of course) and then strike back at whoever decided to attack you. Time for Serbia to take shit from no one

There's no starforce as far as i can tell. But you need to enter a serial, and i think it does an online activation. There's no limit to how many times you can activate it though.

Yes you have a secret service. You can use them to spy on people which you need to do to find out how honest/corrupt they are which determines if they will accept a bribe or go to the press and reveal that you tried to bribe them. Or to find out how much they like you which matters if you want them to speak highly of you in public which raises your popularity, based on that person's own popularity and charisma. It also affects whether they will become your lover (if they're the opposite sex) which is useful to gaining their support. Or to find any scandals they might have buried in their closet which you can use to blackmail them, or leak to the press to hurt them. You can also order them to break into the party headquarters of a rival party to see if you can dig up any dirt on them and leak it to the press, which should reduce their votes in the next election.
And you can also assassinate people. And you can infiltrate terrorist organisations in your country in order to defeat them. Or infiltrate terrorist organisations in the countries of your enemies in order to offer them weapons and money. And you can send them to spy on other countries in order to gather military intelligence, or steal industrial technology and a few more. But you can't send them to start any coups or anything. At least i haven't seen that option. You do however get the option to attempt to assassinate politicians in other countries if you have agents there. And you can also use them to cheat in the election. But if you get caught you're obviously fucked. This of course depends on how well funded they are. The more you fund them the less likely it is that anything bad will happen, even if they're caught. If they're well funded there will be no trace leading back to you even if they're caught, so you're still safe. But this is just one aspect out of tons of others in this game. There are still a few bugs in the game like i said before. I played as Sweden and my economy started going ape shit. My industries would keep shrinking no matter how much i subsidised them or even if i exempted them form taxes, which is the opposite of what's supposed to happen. So i'm not touching it until it gets patched, which i hope will be soon.
