A long time ago I used to believe that reviews were fair and honest and unmolested by developers and publishers alike. Then came the barrage of horrible games getting high scores and then even way later being insulted as bad games by reviewers who gave them high scores. Black & White was a prime example of this... we got fed so much hype and then when those reviews poured in it was like The flying spaghetti monster himself made the game with his blessed noodly appendages... but then the game was installed on our PC's and its clear that the hype did not live up to the game and the reviewers lied to us. Obviously bribed with something... Then when time passed they started to insult the game in their mags and sites and even called it the most over hyped game of all time... totally counterdicting what their reviews previously said.. and this behavior continues to this day.
Now it seems those who refuse to fall in line are going to get sued because they dare speak a their honest opinion and dislike for the game. |
Did you read the article? They weren't suing them because it's a bad review. They're suing them because they believe that this website acquired their review copy of the game illegally. |
Yes I did read it and you actually believe the claim to be true!? HA! Why on earth would the reviews get a pirated copy? They wouldn't do something that stupid because Atari knows who they sent it too and didn't. Atari is just trying to bully them to pull the review. On top of that HOW would they get such a copy? At the time they reviewed it there were no scene releases and would have never beat the protection on their own.
So this leaves 2 options. They got a reviews version of the game which of course had to come from Atari. Or somehow they got their hands on a legit retail copy which would still be 100% legal on their part. Clearly Atari is just being like cunts about the bad review.

..and how do *you* know that would work?
incidently...i have the retail version..and if it try to even LOOK at the contents of that folder in regedit, it says..... *cannot open license file*, and THAT is just trying to look in the registry folder.....

You can use regedt32 instead of regedit, there you can give yourself rights on this registry folder so you can open it.

blame consoles for this , 4 was a ps2 title , 5 a x360 and the generalization rules about what stuff has to be in a game to be hip for console kiddies

Console games are dumbed down and streamlined compared PC games, not counting most ports. Any old school PC gamer knows this.

agreed 100%
i play games since old atari and philips consoles and passed comodore 64,mega drive, mega cd, playstaion1, pc.
somehow the consoles are limited..it feels like artificial even if it is the best game..dunno why but good games rock on pc and good games still feels not right on console.

oh shut up and play something else.
what do you guys want?to come out like mass effect did?so you can play a mission and then listen to the music and beg for a working crack?
the ERA of scene release of a game before the official release is OVER!
You got to wait a week an a half for a working game now!
The release groups learn'd the lesson and they will not make the same mistake again like they did with Mass Effect ( release a game just to make the other group look bad ) (or groups reading messages from people who say shame on you for releaseing a game that doesn't work )
Yeah, well, that's just, like, your opinion, man.
