the number of 12v rails is irrelevant, the only thing that matters is the AMPS the 12v is giving.....

Im really clueless when it comes to power supply all those rails and other crap. 12v rails is what you connect to motherboard or wth does it mean? All i need is 4 fans connectors, 1 pciex16, 3 sata

i am not planning to upgrade or add anything in near future, maybe new hard drive. I can still play most of the newest games on medium settings

but that power supply would work? it gets decent reviews in newegg

Yes that power supply would work fine. In fact more than fine, it is somewhat future proof. If you ever decide to update major things in the future, that will be there to stay.

@besthijacker, well it only has 2 12v rails, so if you start adding more devices, you could have some problems.
single large rail is better aslong as it has really good amps, pcpower&cooling and corsair are the only psu's i would buy though they dont overrate there watts like most of the cheaper brands do.

i think all the pcpower&cooling psu's are single 12v rail psus but they have really high amps and theyre regarded as the finest psu manufacturer

btw i had no signal issues once on an x800 they just poped up out of nowhere certain games would run for a bit and then bam! no signal or my monitor would go blank, i narrowed it down to overheating and cleaned all around the fan on the gpu and got as much dust from the copper pipe things on the cooler as i could, end result was 15c lower idle temps , 25c lower load and no more no signal/black screens.

guess its to late for you to give it a go though but i suspect your issue is something else i honestly wouldnt be suprised if it turned out to be the psu again Laughing

I think you would understand if you actually read what has been posted in this last page....

:hijacker, so before when you had the old PSU, the video came in fine? Did you change anything else? When you did that test for the PSU on the other page, you did have everything unplugged from the PSU, right?

Well, I used to get that problem couple of times in past 6 months, when i would power up, i could get no signal. old psu had 3 pice connectors, so i would just plug in next one and just switch whenever that would happen...so that could mean that video card was starting to fail?

i test that psu yesterday with paperclip

edit : mort, 2 more posts and 10k!

all those problems and shit, i wish i would have money to just say fuck it and buy new pc but cant Laughing Laughing
