Phylum that's true, steam should charge less money...

but then you could consider the costs of them maintaining servers and stuff like that Razz

either way...

I think warez is good, i support trying things before you buy them, i was arguing with the guy who was saying a YEAR of his time in gaming isnt worth the money. that's just bullshit. I only buy if I plan on playing the multiplayer often and playing thru the single player, or if I like the developer.

I'm having so much fun sitting here at work reading forum posts on this game. You guys who are trying to get the cracks and all to work are fucking cheap tight ass's. This is the game of the year. It's wonderful. but then again, this is the same forum that loved Postal 2, and people wanted to buy that. Also, I don't buy the "Steam sucks" crap. I have steam installed and I have NEVER had a problem. You people should optimize your systems. you don't deserve to be running a computer. Go play consoles, they were made for you turdballs. Smile

Ahhh, felt great.

Last time I checked..Steam was free, no?

Indeed. He was saying that steam should charge less money because it doesn't have to be distributed by vivendi, it's not on cd's theres no manuals to pring, no boxes to make etc...

Anyways, I've never had problems with steam either, I think people just don't know what their doing and probably screw it up themselves for the most part

worst things steam has ever done to me: not been able to get on friends (WHOOP DE DOO who give a crap.) and occasionally dropped from servers. oh no! 10 seconds of my time reconnecting! it's THE DEVIL!

people are morons. (what do you know, we have bush as a president)

Seriously, if you can't get past this bit you're going to be fucked later in the game. HL2 is unprecedented in the FPS genre in that it actually requires lateral thinking.

All the dumbshits and 12 year olds who expected to just run around killing things with arrows pointing the direction you've got to go will be sorely disappointed. I love it, it actually feels more like a real world, rather then something created for you to kill things in.

I bought the game but I think $70 is a bit steep for something that I don't tangibly own. And the whole activation issue makes me a little more upset about it.

And the fact I have to pay them, and still wait to download it.

Not complaining but I thought it was supposed to be cheaper over the Internet? It's actually more expensive.

Yeah but you don't get Day of Defeat Source, and it would end up $60 with tax added anyway.

EMPORiO release works fine with the DLL fix, i had to use it cause the exe patch doesnt seems to work on my PC. My XP cant run that MS-DOS thing for some reason.

@ those who said that EMPORiO sucks: If you're pissed at them cause the game wasnt working properly just STFU and buy the game, they do it for free and the game is free. Im pretty sure that none of you morons cant make a release like that as fast as they did.

@ those who said this release blows and will wait for "retail": This is retail you retards, its the release you download via STEAM so does that mean that all the people who had the legit key and got it from STEAM got a cheap release??? I dont think so.

That was my 2 cents...nuff said!

you are realy wrong!

just a note :

you must not have internet ( for steam ) to play this game !! for the people without internet , have valve a hotline!! this mean you make a phone call and you become a code for the reg! and this mean the steam reg etc is a algorithm and this is crackable ! Wink

steam is great
HL2 is great

not having a cracked version of HL2 is great

unusal ain't it to see a game not warezed properly until after release - esp a high profile game like this - shows us steam and this method actually works and i know for fact that because of this more people have brought it as Retail.

yeah it'll get cracked eventually, maybe tonight, maybe tomorrow - but its that thought that your not playing it and we are that drives ya potty.

Glad i brought this game - its awesome

Get Half.Life.2.EMPORiO.FIX-ape and put the client .dll in your hl2/bin folder. I dont know if it fix the GFX bugs but the game works fine here and the GFX are fuckin great.

Gabe Newell will always be a fat fuck...HL:Source doesnt have a MP, they didnt add new maps for CS:Source like they claimed to do so they can all go fuck themselves.

All my friends who bought the package for CS:Source was mad as fuck yesterday when they found out they didnt add new maps and skins and told me that if they knew it was to be like that they would never pay for it and get the crack release instead.

oh my god you play the game before i play this , oh my god !

realy this is childish!!

i can wait for the games and i must not have a game on a relase day!!

when you become a older age , then you must work and then you see , that you not have all times to play for games Wink

and btw hl2 is just a game ! a game like farcry or doom3 . a fps with a modern gfx

a hl2 is not a thing from god!!

and a last note :

realy good games stay for a very long time!! when nobody play hl2 in 3 months , then is this game not good Wink

I think a portion of the people buying it are also doing so because it's an amazing game and there will no doubt be great mods coming out for it that will need real version... I didn't buy it because I couldn't get it for free, I brought it because I think they deserve the money for the time they took to make such an excellent game.
