First of all, this looks FAKE as heck.
However, the emulation scene is really progressing better than some people give it credit for. To the above poster who asked if people had seen Playstation 2 emulation --- I have, and it's amazing. I finished "Final Fantasy X" and "Kingdom Hearts" with no issues, and "Resident Evil 4" runs just as fast in PCSX2 as the native PC port. Oh, and "Shadow of the Colossus" and "Bully" --- some of the most advanced games on the PS2 --- now run nearly full speed with almost perfect GFX on my PC using the latest SVN. Performance is ***EXCELLENT*** if you use the latest beta and newest GSDX 1.8 video plugin. If the devs can fix a few issues with Spiky Polygon Syndome and fix some stability issues, the Playstation 2 is very, very, very close to being fully emulated.

If you want to run PS2 games on your PC, grab the latest revision 377 of PCSX2 @ http://www.pcsx2.net/downloads.php?p=publicbeta
And make sure to use the newest GSDX 1.8 video plugin available @
http://forums.ngemu.com/ps2-plugin-questions-troubleshooting/97657-gsdx.html
Many high-end games like Ico and God of War 2 are still NOT playable due to corrupt GFX, but they do go in-game and are running now running FULL SPEED. Other games like Metal Gear Solid 3, Shadow of the Colossus, and Bully run almost perfect and only need some stability issues resolved before they can be listed as fully playable. Some games that now work fine from start to finish include: Resident Evil 4, Kingdom Hearts, FFX, FFX-2, FFXII, Persona 3, Dark Cloud 2, Gladius, Killer 7, Okami, Shadow Hearts, Xenosaga to name a few!

Cool i'll have grab the new version too. I played Disgaea 2 (which worked amazingly well.. better then on the PS2 in fact) earlier this year from start to finish and was really impressed with the PCSX2 emu. Had started FFXII and Persona 3 but got put off by the laggy cutscene bugs in FF and the graphic glitches in Persona.
Thanks for the heads up!. I'll give them another blast now if it's been fixed.

To continue the off-topic ... did anyone notice that a new version is out for the best PSX emulator out there ? Yep, after about 5 years, ePSXe 1.7.0 got released, and Pete updated his gfx plugins to support some new features !!!
After I finish Crisis Core on my PSP, I'll start FFVII on ePSXe !

Or you could play the PC version of FF7, which looks so much better.

1) I think it's harder to make the PC version work on modern hardware and on XP,lol
2) I already have the PSX version (it's 3 cds!) Can't be bothered to find and download the PC version.
3) I like fiddling with ePSXe and the plugins, and I've got them perfectly optimised for this game
4) I see better gfx than the original PSX version, due to gfx plugins advanced resolution/texture filtering options. Still shit for today's standards, but I guess the PC version is also shit !
5) I have full control over the emulated version (savestates etc.)
6) I feel elite

Does the latest Beta fix the save issue in Persona 3?
I want to try out FES, but I sold my PS2 along with my 360 to help fund this PC. :/

None of the games (ICO, SOTC, MGS3-subsistence) I'd want to play work according to the compatibility list (I'm not going to settle for bugs, but I appreciate that others will). Wish my PS3 had backwards compatibility. Bah. I remember playing PSONE games fine on the PC though.

You should be fine to play a few games. Setting it up to work takes some time so experiemnt around with settings speedhacks and stuff.
You can find compiled svn versions here.

Dont ask about those in the forums though they dont support svn builds there.

FF7 was epic. I love that game still to this day, even though it looks like shit now.

What's that got to do with an emulator? There is a native PC version..

You haven't been following the thread ! I mentioned there was a new ePSXe version out after many years, and that I was playing FF7 on it. I already explained why I prefer the PSX emulated version to the PC version.
