I say just wait for the Full game, its nice to have a creature editor but not exactly fun when you can't do much with it.

Just ordered and paid for this on D2D Uk, but when i go to the download manager it just says unable to download the file. Any ideas?

i got the same problem

uninstall the ign download manager, then it gives you a direct link

i told i'll wait for the full version.. but i downloaded the HP version.. but it gives 50-75%, oh well

the worst part is the lack of heads & nice eyes,there were no 4 finger-claw hands, and to make a scary -not a goofy looking creature is quite a challenge Sad And the parts limit is a setback..

Is it possible to make a creature with a ranged attack? If not it won't disrupt my plan much... I plan on using MegaMan as my creature the cartoonish graphics would go well with my plan. I figure his human shape should grant him decent mobility and should be able to punch and maybe kick other creatures. Plus it would be funny to see MegaMan devour living things...

legs don't give speed, feet do, and the highest you can go in the full editor on a mono/biped is 4 (5 being the absolute max), with 3 different sets. there's also a sprinting ability that can be raised with feet or decorations.
you can easily make something with a single leg, 4 speed, 5 in all combat skills, sprinting, gliding and jumping...

I wonder how many "inappropriate" creatures have been created so far, this game will probably receive a bit of attention from various sources when it's released.

Hopefully it doesn't lead to anything but considering the ruckus things like this cause for other titles like it's hard to say what will happen.
(Having the game re-rated or worse would probably be a harsh blow for Maxis though there's some pretty weird modifications for Sims as well albeit it's not as "public" as this is.)

Nothing to worry about. If someone announces to the world that he is a penis-lover then EA will simply ban them after 2-3 creatures. It's their money that will go down the drain after the game is released so they will die out eventually.

True, being able to report content uploaded to the official site will minimize this.
(As it appears the game can connect to this site to populate other planets in the games different solar systems.)

That said it wouldn't surprise me if a few games end up having strange creatures in them simply due to how many are uploaded daily. (Over 250.000 creatures uploaded so far.)
(Ofcourse banning repeat offenders will also help with this.)

But as you say it should calm down after a while and people who still want such creatures will probably use different unofficial sites to download from if they really them in their game.

I've no problems with these sort of creatures my self though (Some of the videos are even quite humorous.) but I wouldn't really want to discover a tribe of phallus creatures on another planet in the game. Smile

They could also make creatures only appear in other players games after they got through a evaluation period, some days or so, minimizing it again.

Or add some option ingame so only granted (by devs or team) creatures will appear for those who want to play safe Razz. Of course, that would minimize the number of creatures greatly, overall number would suffice though Wink
