No, the setup files contain some international text but the expansion itself is english only, and it also requires an english M2TW installed game to install.

Correct me if im wrong but i remember reading an article about this, and one of the devs
said the bigger unit counts (around 300 and such) was for testing purposes and
wouldnt end up finalized,if i am however it does look cooler with bigger units but
wouldnt that make sieges and wall attacking a bit problematic?

im hoping the units will be 300, that would be nice. i think 120 are to small troops. and the combat is usualy over very fast (unit vs unit that is) i would like to see 2 units 300 heavy infantry fight eachother off and they both got 5 points in experience, that would be cool. would last an hour =)

300 men per unit would also mean that it costs you 300 population in a city just to build one unit, that'd kick your ass! Razz

I don't think so...its just the wacky way CA does their expansion packs. The original gets updated to 1.2 but the exp pack is ver 1.3. Just like with Rome and BI, BI was one version ahead of it, 1.5 vs 1.4. Anyways it still seems like 1.2 crack works with it?

What I'm wondering is, is kingdoms.exe needed to run the base expansion pack game? Because mine errors out, with just a '?'. I can run and play the original game, the different campaigns(Americas, Crusades, ect) from the start menu but when I try running kingdoms.exe get an error. But it is weird because I don't even see a start menu icon for kingdoms.exe. Just the campaigns. So is it even needed? Or is this exp just a bunch of campaigns thrown together?

I got a Core 2 Duo running at 2.8Ghz, a geforce 7900 gtx and 2 gigs of ddr2-800 ram and it
runs well enough, but it slows down quite a bit in large battles when I use high amounts
of soldiers, especially when there's a long battle in bottlenecks like gates and there are
hundreds of dead bodies on the ground plus hundreds of soldiers fighting.

as long as I'm zoomed out it's ok but if I zoom in there and those hundreds of soldiers go to
their high detail versions it doesn't run good anymore.

So if you wanna run everything at max with anti aliasing and a huge resolution and never
experience a slowdown you'll probably need an 8800GTS at least.

Still, this isn't a shooter where you need high fps to be able to play. even it slows down for a
minute when lots of stuff is happening, everything above 10 or 15 FPS is enough to control
your stuff.

yeah I have 8800 GTS with 640 mb flavor & well system specs bellow & I even experience slow downs with lots of units....I think it comes down to ram at that point & not graphicaly. with 3 Gig's of ram im pretty sure it would be flawless & maybe throw a raptor drive in there for faster VM access.

Bump

I cant believe there isnt ongoing discussions about this game. Best game of the year imo

For anyone that cares, William Wallace (aka Braveheart) shows up within the first 30 turns of the Britannia Campaign and is playable (if you play as Scotland obviously)

Yeah, well...it solved by itself...I got pissed off and turned the computer off for a night and when I tried it again in the morning, it worked...i dunno why.

I did restart the cpu after installation like the game said so I dunno why it decided to work for me

THANK GOD! for this game over the holidays. Playing the Kingdoms Crusader Campaign as i am so in to the whole crusade thing at the mo. Nothing to do with the current conflict "over there" just watched some documentaries from History Channel"The Crusades Crescent and the Cross". And one thing lead to another..."Kingdom of Heaven" dir cut and "The name of the Rose" + a brilliant TTC lecture simply called "Era of the Crusades with Kenneth Harl". Oh well then I just had to reinstall MTWII and Kingdoms Smile Kicking Saladin's ass big time at the mo

I would guess US, but I always go for the safe-route and use gameshadow for patching. It always recognizes the necessary stuff and downloads the correct patches.

Using reloaded+flt releases, i encountered the localized.pack error(s) that a lot of people have during that 1.05 patch process, tried both the US and European patches... As it takes ages to reinstall from scratch, i will wait for Cox or another to tell us how it worked for him. Razz

cf. http://shoguntotalwar.yuku.com/topic/33549/t/Kingdoms-Update-Released.html?page=1

Creative Assembly also leaked an unprotected english exe when they initially uploaded a wrong patch, you can find it over GCW.

As I am installing a new mobo this weekend I will have to wait to patch stuff. I hate installing OS from scratch, only do it like max once every year, or less if it can be avoided. But will for sure patch it up when I get there.

Wait a minute...there's a "Sensei" posting in that official thread and he's marked as CA employee/admin. Does CA have a spy in their midst $en$i? Or is it just a coincidence? Very Happy

Anyway, publishers/devs need to stop with the 30 different versions of every single fucking game. That, or groups need to start labeling their releases as EU or US discs....tired of getting the wrong country patches.

Looks like CA is pretty fucked up internally, they can't even keep track of all the different "versions" they've released.

@ Immunity
lol, I doubt $en$i is a spy, hihi !

BTW, they should make universal patches to avoid customer and pirate confusion. And I hate those games that make their patches incremental (don't know about this one)

Cumulative multilanguage patches FWT !!!
