I am happy to see the game allowing that amount of gameplay. I just hope 50% of it isn't just playing Quasar and doing alien sex.

I have a Zotac 8800 GTS 512 and I have never had a crash with this game, I'm using the Nvidia 169.21 driver for Win XP.

Btw. I'm about 25 hours into the game.

I've played about 3 hours and I think I'm three quarters in (if it follows the same formula as other bioware titles, which so far it has).

nah 50% is filler with vehicle driving and mapping valuable metals. Don't get me wrong game is quite good, but side missions are repetitive as hell (luckily combat is FUN). Most are even on same map with couple of boxes placed on different place. It could be because of The Witcher, but I also think that story is weaker than in previous Bioware games.

Too bad planet exploring isn't properly "exploited".

Couldn't have hurt to be allowed to trade or properly use (craft items?) the surveyed materials/resources. Also adding some bad dudes colonies, wild life, geth outposts on the surface of the planets would have been so simple and rewarding in terms of fun shooting gamplay, leveling and item "farming".

Guess I had too much WoW and Guild Wars, heh?!

Smile

Too bad BioWare didn't release the Unreal.Ed3. Out of all the games on Unreal Engine 3, Mass Effect was indeed the ONE who needed it most, not GoW. Modding could have saved the unexpected short life of this game.

I blame BioWare for spoiling us with quality RPG's with over 100 hrs of gameplay.

Again for fucks sake, so this one is better than vitality?

ive just got to illos (think thats the correct name) and ive just started to get the overheating problem. weapons overheat and then wont cool down. first time ive had the problem, the whole of the game before was perfectly fine using the iND and vitality originals.

had to download this for the fix

Speaking of playing it "smooth"...

Anyone noticed any difference in terms of performance (stuttering, lag, lower/higher FPS) between using the original .exe of the game or the cracked ones?

I haven't had the time much time to play since I have exams, I only did one small mission on Luna, and performance seemed the same.

I played 20 hrs with the Vitality and proper ind cracks and 8 hrs with the original exe and didn't see a difference, except still having overheating problems with VTY crack. Audio bugs, can't talk to squadmates bugs and some getting stuck/character freezing bugs are all still there. Performance is the same too.

Thx for the input. Smile

Yea, not being able to talk to squadmates is a game bug, I think. Happened with the both cracks to me too. Overheating and crashing problems are now gone with the fixed Vitality crack and with these nVidia drivers. Please note that the drivers require a modded .inf.

Better to expect them and not have them, than not to expect them and be incredibly annoyed when it happens Laughing

finally was able to play this a little (last time i tried, it kept crashing during intro video or right after it actually starts(the game)), only thing i changed were the nvidia drivers .. anyway. the game runs smooth and everything (no bugs, glitches, crashes etc) except ...

the galaxy map ...

i know a lot of people had this issue, so could anyone elaborate how to fix it (properly).

Thanks

The best crack is the vitality one. Or try the rfmm or whatever it was called, although I think it sucks.

If you're still having problems, just wait for a patch, there's also bugs with the galaxy map, it's not necessarily unfixed securom sdk triggers. Well, then you'll also need to wait for a cracked patch Smile

Check out the official forum if you're desperate. Maybe one of the advice there will help you.

P.S.: There'd better be a patch until I come back from my holidays !!!! goddammit !!! lol

Runs fast as lightning on my X2-4800 and a Radeon 4850. Maximum settings, 1280x1024 resolution, forced 8xMSAA and 16xAF. I never see less than 35fps and the average is around 45-50.

It USED to run awful on my old 8800GT, but it doesn't on my new card.

It runs perfect on my 8800GTS too.

Guess gobo is one of the "I want new games with 60 fps on my 6 year old pc!" people?

The DLC "Bring down the sky" adds a new side quest (About a hour or so to complete it.) revolving around a asteroid on a crash course with a populated planet and focuses on bringing forth more of the Batari race since while there's quite a bit of info on them via the codex and various dialogues they aren't actually in the game.

changed to latest vitality crack, its now virtually bug free (as far as i am able to see anyway), galaxy map etc works fine now at least. FPS seem to have dropped a little (no worries tho there, it still runs smooth) oh and on a 9600GT (512), a OC'ed 6320 (@3.15ghz) 2gb ram, and using a 22" (1680x1050) WS.

It really is beautiful. Bit boring tho.
