The only bad thing about it is the brand. Acer = bad.

Look for a Dell with similar specs. You'll find it much cheaper.

If you got a UK based site for these cheaper dell's could you link it, as most of the laptop's with these spec's cost about the same from what iv'e seen.

I was looking at the exactly the same Acer. Here it sells for 999 € which I find very reasonable. If Acer sux can someone post a similar laptop from Dell or Toshiba for same price?

Well, I'd look for you but I'd end up showing you USA prices which is irrelevant. All in all though, theres a reason acer laptops are so bloody affordable. Look for some toshiba satellites..

You'd have to do the converting of money and what not but eh.
I would also recommend getting a laptop that you can personally try out in person. You have no idea otherwise what the feel of it is going to be like. For years I refused to get a laptop cause I could never get along with the keyboards, I am now for the past month an owner of a lenovo and it's changed my opinion on laptops severely, of course lenovo will be the only one I'll buy now lol.

Going to upgrade the cpu to 2.4ghz, an get the upgrade for ram, from 3gig to 4gig,
one question, can the WXGA+(1440x900) do 1280x1024 resolution?
Thank's for any help in advance.
P.S. it's also 140 pound's cheaper than the Acer.
