It seems you don't understand. VTY' fixed exe is a completely rebuilt version of the original, with stripped Securom. It means they removed the protection in its root, without need of patching numerous triggers.
And iND release actually come from RLD, in which Securom wasn't removed, but emulated. That's the difference.

I haven't tried the cracked exe (yet), but the keygen appears to be working. AV and anti-spyware don't find anything.

I have not used the console at all, and to clarify, I have only used the ind crack with overheating bugfix, not the first ind crack, or any other For that matter (Ie. Detonation or Reloaded)

I'm having problems with the VITALITY crack version. Haven't played any other version, but at some point in the game (first time was after 15 min, second after 25 min) the screen goes black. The music still palys and my monitor seems to constantly change video modes or at least it looks exactly like that. Disabled all the programs running in the background so that can't be it...
Wanted to go out and buy the game since it seems to be awesome and I want to support that kind of game. But if I'm not gonna be able to play it then there really is no point...

Forgive me if I seem a little on edge, but there's alot of people yapping on about issues with this game. Believe me when I say that the Ind and Vitallity crack works quite smoothly (for me atleast), BUT! This an Rpg game, and as an unwritten rule this type of game always has bugs at the time of release. And that doesn't nessecerily have anything to do with the crack. Rpg games is per definition very complex, and that's why the Developers need to release it when it's pretty stable, as it's the only way to root out all the bugs, because the users (us) give feedback when we stumble on something.
I have been playing this (with Ind version 2 & now the Vitality) for about 25 Hours and haven't experienced ANYTHING major. So please people, quit moaning, it's probably something in your system, like old drivers and alot of unessecary stuff running in the background. Take a look at tweakguides.com , the owner is currently working on a Mass Effect tweak Guide.

AS OF JUNE 10th, 2008 - having a hard time here reading all these threads to find out WHICH version/group of the game is working?
and which fix/crack is working?

reloaded or Detonation or vitality rls it doesnt matter, u install any of them fresh install copy Vit crack and enjoy the game

Today i installed Mass Effect (Vitality Rls) and used Vit Crack and started the game , i created a character and the intro started and at the point when "MASS EFFECT" appears in the intro it crashes to desktop with the "VPU recover" message from catalyst driver !
do any one knows a fix for that?
* Ati X1950 XTX 512
* Catalyst 8.6
* 2 GB Ram
* Pentium D 3.4 Ghz 4 m cache
* SB Audigy 2 ZS

i am in a room with AC and the GPU is around 63 C
any way thanks for the reply i fixed the problem by disabling Adaptive AA and making Catalyst AI standard in CCC !

I take it you cant chat so much while on the ship with other team members. Several times now I go to talk, and get no dialogue cues just end up standing there with no chat options stuck. Can't get out and have to reload. Is this a crack issue?

I don't get it, I had crashes with this game and Crysis also, reboots on almost the same places.
When I force or enable AA the crashes are gone. Anyone have any idea what this could be? I have a 8800 ultra with 175.16 forceware but I have used different drivers also and it's the same thing, I force anti aliasing or turn it on and the crashes are gone.

I keep on getting those damn General Protection Failure messages as well... I have the reloaded files+Vitality crack+RZR trainer... Nvidia 175.19 insalled, everything is up to date as well.. Anyone got an idea what to do?

I have the game installed in a different partition, E6750 @ stock, 2GB memory, 8800GTS 320MB @ stock, Vista Ultimate X86.
