If you consume too much of vitamin C (or any other vitamins) you can get really bad side affects. Read this, I found it interesting http://www.acu-cell.com/vitc.html

well I don't think you should live in a bubble, as I see it you just have to be moderate, vitamins can really screw you up if you are gobbling them up like crazy. And I remember there was a clinical study that all of those vitamins and supplements (bottled stuff) don't do you any good at all...

Yeah it does. Eating too much sugar and carbs in one go overloads your pancreas and burns it out eventually. Thats why fatties often develop adult onset diabeetus.

That is actually rare, not the adult onset diabetes but that one's pancreas would burn out. Fact is most adult onset diabetics can simply lose the fat and they then return to normal. The process is similar to pregnant women, the pancreas just can't keep up with the extra mass.

Being overweight would definately be the no.1 for adult onset. Drinking 8 liters of OJ everyday plus other suger foods would raise your odds of becoming diabetic tho even if you were not overweight.

I honestly don't believe that, while I may not be a medical doctor, or a dr. of any sort, it is my understanding that a healthy person developing diabetes would be extremely rare. My guess is that other ill effects would take place within the body (losing teeth?, getting fat,) long before diabetes would set in. But that is just me?

(HealthCastle.com) This is probably the most common misconception about diabetes. If you have diabetes, you do need to watch your sugar and carbohydrate intake to properly manage your blood sugar level with the help of your Registered Dietitian. However, if you do not have diabetes, sugar intake will not cause diabetes. So far, a diet high in calories, being overweight, and an inactive lifestyle are the main risk factors for Type 2 diabetes.
A study published in Diabetes Care (April 2003) re-confirmed that sugar does not cause diabetes. In this study, researchers analyzed data on nearly 39,000 middle-aged women, all of whom completed a 131-item food questionnaire. Six years later, there were 918 cases of Type 2 diabetes reported. Researchers found no definitive influence of sugar intake on the risk of developing Type 2 diabetes.
