I liked fighting in KOTOR a lot more. This Gears of War approach just doesn't suit me. It's too simple, the AI is generaly very stupid and doesn't react to you flanking them, rushing etc. Too simplified for a RPG.

don't bash the game just because it didn't appeal to you.
there's a difference between a bad game and a game that you didn't like too much. |
I'm not bashing the game, I'm trying to state my opinion, MY opinion could never make you play or not play/like or dislike a game...could it?
I actually come from a place of disappointment, because I wanted another good series of games like KoTOR -- which by the way I could even compare to the Baldur's Gate series, even if it never had the kind of impact that BG 1 and mostly 2 had...
With Mass Effect, I don't know even know how to approach it...it's all over the place...I'm playing it, all the while telling myself "Wow, imagine how much fun I could be having right now" (With Mass Effect!..)
Maybe it really is just me, in which case at least everyone else is enjoying it which is what seems to be going on and that's great...just please...how I could I even think of "bashing" a dev-team that I like so much? I guess they lost me after 2003'ish... Jade Empire...yeesh.

Funny, I can say the same exact thing about you... hopeless xbox fanatic.
I was actually defending PC version from his bashing, not bashing xbox version. I don't know if you noticed his posts even before ME release but I was following his bitching and whining on how PC version will suck, how bad will it run, how not optimized will it be and so on. But now PC version turned out to be great and getting better reviews than xbox version and most of the people will probably agree with me. So the fact that you see it over way around... look at the first line in my post. |
Hopeless xbox fanatic? look I don't want to get drawn into a silly quote argument here but I don't even have a sneeze of a post in the xbox forums around here, I have a PC that runs this game perfectly and cost me the price of 4 of Microsoft's "running around tripping falling calling mommy turning on red lights and so on and so forth" Top grade plastic masterpieces in black and white.
Maybe I simply didn't GET YOU, and if that's the case I apologize, but you can't defend and offend my friend, you did call the 360 version "inferior".
Blame! don't act!

I have a question. Been playing the game, and loving it, but whenever I land on a planet in the big car, I can never seem to exit it. This is kind of problematic, since I need to exit from time to time to complete missions and move on. Anyone?

A girl say something, ambassador reply "Sounds a little far-fetched." My answer choices are:
-She's right
-It's true
-It's not far-fetched
What kind of dialog choice is this?

Your class needs to have the appropriate weapon talent to zoom. |
But i already used the zoom with sniper, but i cant remember the button to do so |
Press 'E'. |
thx

It's still the right mouse button. You must have the right weapon selected AND you must have the ability in the first place (ie. have training in sniper rifle), otherwise you'll see nothing but a big unzoomable circle. |
thx

I've gotten all the supporting characters now and I reached citadel and saw that ruski biatch who wanted an inspection of the ship. I freakin hated his tone and answered all his questions rudely and I have to say I was so satisfied that it was worth the +2 renegade points I got even though I'm an all out good guy. I showed that pompous f**king prick his place. But man.. that was awesome.
1 and 2 are still amazing.

Anyone have a problem with not being able to equip armor you just picked up?
I chose the soldier class, witch means i should be able to wear medium armor from the start(even the default starting armor that is already equipped when you start the first mission is medium), but for some strange reason halfway through the first mission i pick up some new medium armor and its grayed out? I didnt have this problem the first time through with the Detonation crack :S
Using the iND crack now btw.

It's a decent game, no more no less. I liked the Codex, but on the other hand all that time writing the descriptions and voiceovers could have been better spent on fleshing out the sidequests. Most of them consisted of go to planet X, find building template Y (there were like 4?) and kill 20 of enemy Z - get credits and exp and a dissappointing popup telling you that you finished the quest (which by the way mostly took place on standard planet 1A, with 3 mineral deposits, a random corpse with something valuable on it and a crashed probe of one type or another).
Also, too much loot, you literally swim in it through most of the game, no real sense of accomplishment finding stuff. The party members were alright, but not as fleshed out as one would have hoped. Very little interaction between them except the silly elevator conversations. Combat was ok, but nothing special. As mentioned the AI is less than stellar. Standard Bioware dark and light is boring, give me the fucking shades of grey (hello Fallout).
The main plot was cliche (enter trademark Bioware "twist"), but some of the stuff on the way was pretty cool. Deciding the fate of an entire alien race and a certain speech stands out in my head. Boss fights were meh.
Not a horrible, nor a godly game. Somewhere between "half-assed" and "very good" depending on what angle you view the game from.

Hey guys! I made a better version of the video that is used when you travel from one star system to another (the one that has the Normandy approach the relay and gets launched), because the original has too much macroblocking due to high compression. My version is 20MB, and has considerable less.

Cheers!
