Hello.
I seem to get a general protection fault error when starting the game. I can click the playbutton fine, then the load screen comes up, then the hourglass-cursor and then BOOM general protection fault with the code that everyone else is having.
To make matters worse, my screen loses its signal as i click the "ok" to accept the GFP, thus forcing me to restart the computer. That makes it kinda hard to just try loads of different solutions. The only times I've ever seen my screen lose its signal is when I used regular forceware drivers for my 7800 GS. I have to use the NGO special built drivers, or my screen loses its signal after an hour or so of gaming of any kind. Apparently the XFX 7800 GS Extreme had this weakness, that it can't use regular drivers. Go figure.
Any way to fix the GFP? There's no way to use the "enable administrator" fix because I'm on windows xp, and I have done a reinstall. Installing to program files didn't seem to work either.
Any ideas? Thanks in advance
raptor 10000rpm 74gb

windows xp sp3
XFX 7800 GS extreme (or a name like that, it's slightly overclocked thats the point)

Here is what I did to get that message to go away:
1) If you are using duel monitors or if you have a TV setup as a second monitor, remember to set the nvidia setting back to a single monitor setting to play the game
2) Install the directx 9c October 2006 version included on the disc, your 9c might be an older version
3) download the lastest driver(175.16) for the 7800 GS
4) in your nvidia control panel, go to "Change Flat Panel Scaling" and set it to the option "Use Nvidia scaling with fixed aspect ratio"
That's what I did to get rid of the message, good luck.
