|
 |
In the light of the NForce mods closing the Mass Effects threads and denying it's users to contribute to the cause of finding a solution to playing this game, I invite anyone who'd be interested to read about current fixes and maybe even contribute to new ones here.

What is there to contribute? NOTHING HELPS, either buy or wait for proper fix. Is that a good contribution?
In before the lock.

There are two issues with the official cracks. The Galaxy Map and the broken save function. I have two working fixes for the save issue and Scalee was close to solving the Galaxy Map. All Scalee asked for was some feedback from the users on this board, but somehow people here found it more appropriate to flame him for his efforts.
So let me make this clear. This thread is directed at those who want to help, not those who want to lean back and flame others for their efforts.

Yeah, other topic was closed because of excessive flaming by someone who drank too mutch coffee.
Back to topic, the "fix" seems to work for the saves, if you start over the game from scratch.
Galaxy map also is a bug of the game. At least some mass effect owners complain of it. (at least that's what I read.)
Tech support claims that mass effect has problems with 8800 cards, and they are working on it. (again feedback from official tech forum, and ME owners)

I'm using the save fix #2 and it's working 100%. Anyone who wants proof is free to download the file and give and confirm it for themselves. But you can also just bitch and moan, that is after all a prerogative used far too little on this board.

Oh wow. The second save game fix DOES work. Also, here's the virus scan: http://www.virustotal.com/analisis/bbce5fa6bc4649a279a8c9c247638cfa
Only one came up, so that could be considered a false positive. It's working perfectly for me so far. I'm going to go test the map now. (Gotta get back to my ship!)
Also, this is not a new save teleported, this my old save that stopped saving. So far it works though!

So more good feedback on the save issue.
Now, I only know about 1 fix, the TRFF one.
What is "the second save game fix"?

Ugh, I sense this is a "deal with each trigger as it's found, having a fully cracked version 2009"-solution. Until someone knows how to recognize all triggers and protection mechanisms and disable them all properly this seems like a waste of time.

What? Where'd you hear that? I consider "completed" only when I've visited every possible planet. But if you'll take a look at a walkthrough you'll find there are a lot of planets that we don't even know the codes for. Their maps are apparently not even in the map directory of the game. So the console "fix" allows you to visit SOME of the planets and play only part of the game.

I ran the patch and then loaded my game save, could save. So you don't necessarily have to start a new game

Well, I just found another gamebreaking flaw in this crack. At the end of that ice planet mission, you have to ride a train to go back. Problem being, screen goes blank when you're transported back to your ship. You can still get into the menus and everything though. Which I find quite odd. Oh well, I guess I go back to waiting.
