Has anybody checked the default .ini or other config files against the same files after the save option gets grayed out? Just possibly something changes in there and we could revert it back or write-protect the file to avoid it.

Hate to interject, but i have a quick question, i am running around in the citadel and see that the save option is greyed out, however, quick save seems to work and i have yet to get to the galaxy map.
Also, once i close the game and try to launch it says your game has been comprimised, then i try to open it again, it works fine and loads the save.
Can you/are you not able to save in the citadel because of the game or because of the bad cracks?

For crying out loud, just go to bed and wait the guys that know what they're doing fix this, we'll probably see something in 10, 15 hours.
For what is worth, i did some troubleshooting of my own, and found out that you can get the galaxy map to work at any time BEFORE talking with the admiral on the docks (prior to beeing handed command of the Normandy)
Loaded a game before talking with the admiral, consoled to BIOA_ICE00, galaxy map worked. Exited game, loaded the same save again, talked with the admiral, was made captain of the normandy. Once again, consoled to BIOA_ICE00 and boom, black galaxy map.

1) The file has been removed because it adds almost nothing and isn't worth using. The two releases and their cracks should both be nuked (if they're not already), and removed, just like that patch.

Thut faget is who person know? English not speaking right to amke understand hard times please help. Computer broken please! Reverse blowjob game help!

@ Viriii
Kaspersky Internet Security 7 can cure Virtumonde completely. Install the latest version, it has 1-month trial.

It looks like it's because of the crack. There are a few reports of this on the Bioware forum from legit users that have registered, so it may also be cropping up in the normal retail game as well, but it's not nearly as much. And who knows, those people might be asking for a friend they're wanting to copy the game for, etc. I've seen one person post a trick about editing one of the .ini files to make autosave more frequent, but I myself just used the fast travel as that saves every time. You may want to make a separate save then rush ahead to the point where you control the ship to make sure you're not wasting your time.

I thought you couldn't access the map until after you become commander? Otherwise it gives you a message. I'm not sure what BIOA_ICE00 is but I'm guessing it's another planet where you are flagged to be in charge already? Under the circumstances I explained in my last post mine worked only after talking to the admiral. I only used console commands to get to points of the story prior to that, not after. I used BIOA_NOR00 to get to the Normandy until then (I -think- that just goes to wherever the Normandy is set to be at the time, or it may be to when it's pre-Eden, not sure).
I understand when people say to just wait, but I'm hoping this information proves useful for anyone who is knowledgeable enough to work on fixing this stuff. It's better than just flinging insults.

When trying to see if a fix works its probably not wise to use console cheats during the process. Ship is right after you become a spectre.

Anyone know why I keep this error when trying to launch the game? It says application failed to initialize, 0xc0000005. I looked at Even Viewer and found:
Faulting application MassEffect.exe, version 1.0.14184.0, time stamp 0x4820dbae, faulting module ntdll.dll, version 6.0.6001.18000, time stamp 0x4791a7a6, exception code 0xc0000005, fault offset 0x00009cac, process id 0x1678, application start time 0x01c8c47ec14b3d05.
Event ID: 1000
Level: Error
Not really sure why. I've reinstalled like 3 times. Manual installed as well. I wish I could at least start the game to try it and see if its wort buying.
Edit: Should Add that the error occurs even without crack. I can't launch at all.

I had that shit too, Windows OneCare online scan cleaned part of it, but was clueless on another one. After trying 5+ antivirus/antispyware, the one who worked is Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware.

The Mepatcher Works for exactly 1 mission after you get the galaxy map. Then it triggers the safeguards again. The patch was rushed out with barely any internal testing.

Got the TRFF crackfix over usenet. Now i see that it has been nuked. Reading the thread implies that there is a trojan in one of the fake fixes. Does that apply to the trff file too, and what program to use to find the infection? I'm scanning with some of the programs named here so far but none has detected anything.

As far as I'm aware the version most people got and applied was not infected with a virus. It simply just does not work.

fell1234 wrote: | Dipshit you already have claimed none of the releases contained any virus. Its a fucking fact the vitality one is infected with Virtumonde. Its a fucking fact this patch doesnt work for fucking anyone was released by NOBODY. Was removed from GCW and sets off virus scanners. What more does one require to not use it. And have no idea about what you speak of. A file IDENTICAL to this with a slightly altered name has been verified as infected has been removed from various sites/usenet and it keeps popping up.
Stop roleplaying that you have any idea what the fuck you are talking about. |
First, let's all say.........breathe man..........you will die young.
There is no Vitality release.........the one out there is a fake. So off course it's loaded with some trojan or virus. You don't see that one in GCW, or in de Dox section. So, the chance of it being real, is 1 or 2%.
It's NOT a fact that the patch doesn't work, since it appears 1 or 2 people are playing (for now at least).
Anyway, when Vitality does release a crack, or even Reloaded releases a new one, that would be the best solution.
Unless you try something, and let the others know, and be cooperative, please stop harrassing the one's that are actually trying to help.
P.S. - Less coffee, more tea.
