I installed the fix, started a new game, got to Citadel fine, then right before the second Council meeting I quicksaved, went to the menu and Save was greyed out. Galaxy map didn't work either, and when I closed the game and started it again, it gave the Game Compromised message. None of that happened for that character before that. Having played the beginning twice now, I'm just going to do other stuff until this gets sorted out...

I think they're talkng about the TRFF patcher in GameCopyWorld. I've checked it myself (and I don't just mean with my antivirus noob) It's safe, but non-working.
You're talking about another fake that's been floating around.

You're retarded. I've tested all of these "nonworking" patches in a sandbox, and there is no infection. At least not one that can get onto Vista x64. This includes the fake "Vitality" one and the "crackfix" on GCW. There's no Virtumonde. I don't know where you heard this from, but you really don't know what you're talking about.

Maybe an insecure x32 XP system can be infected, but nothing with even a little hardness is affected by these. I have it on good authority that vitality released the "reloaded" patch to detonation. They did this knowing it would not work and pretended that it was leaked from reloaded to make them look bad because apparently reloaded stole a crack of theirs recently. However, this was their way of getting back at reloaded; releasing a bad crack in reloaded's name and claiming the bad crack was stolen by detonation. So they made a big deal over a crack that didn't even work.
Vitality has no plans to post a fix and is waiting on reloaded's responce. Don't expect a fix anytime soon if their will ever be one.

About several of the files you tested being known as infected? What exactly do you not understand here? What exactly does "hardening" have to do with a file containing a virus? Fucking idiot.

why all the "hard work" from vitality then?
and if so now is just the perfect time for vitality to release a proper crack so why should they wait for a reaction from reloaded saying "that's not our crack blabla"

And another random idiot with an incredible vocabulary (hahaha, haha, stfu ya) comes out of nowhere, talks about an entirely different thing to prove his mighty knowledge and at the last makes a totally useless comment on a system he doesn't know shit about. Yes that AVG scanner kept me safe and it will continue to do so from retards like you.
Back to the topic at hand, I've re-installed the game, applied the patch and started a new profile. So far save game seems to work. I'll try saving and exiting the game, then reloading to see if the save game function and galaxy map works. I'm so very frustrated with this game and just gonna stop trying and let it rot in my HDD until a %100 working fix comes out if this fails...

Lol changing your argument. You only claimed it had a virus before, now you're saying "doesn't work" to cover your ass. The "crackfix", the one you posted the scan of, actually does work (but only for a little bit, and only if you never reload the game). This claim has been substantiated by several people. That doesn't mean it's worth downloading or using, at all. It's still a shitty crack.
Now, as for the "positives", according to three of the thirty two scans, it's a virus, trojan, or downloader. If you actually take the time to examine the file in detail (inside a sandbox), you'd note that it never installs anything into the system, nor does it ever initiate any TCP/UDP connections. Strange for a Trojan/Downloader to not do its job. Couldn't be a false positive on a program whose sole purpose is to modify other programs (behaviour commonly found in viruses and worms).
But, of course, you'll ignore this and say something along the lines of "GOD YOUR AN IDIOT THERES A VIRUS RIGHT THERE PEOPEL ARE STUPID HAHAH YOUR AN IDIOT".

Dipshit you already have claimed none of the releases contained any virus. Its a fucking fact the vitality one is infected with Virtumonde. Its a fucking fact this patch doesnt work for fucking anyone was released by NOBODY. Was removed from GCW and sets off virus scanners. What more does one require to not use it. And have no idea about what you speak of. A file IDENTICAL to this with a slightly altered name has been verified as infected has been removed from various sites/usenet and it keeps popping up.
Stop roleplaying that you have any idea what the fuck you are talking about.

With the MEPatcher I got further than I did with either of the other cracks. I didn't do a fresh install. I just did a quick start (default John Shepard, I've read that makes a difference but can't verify) and advanced the story using the console up until the point where you become spectre. After that point I played the game normally without warping, and was still able to save AND use the galaxy map, going to several different planets with no problem.
Saving and the map stopped working again after I loaded one of the saves (and this is without exiting the game even). I don't know whether hopping around the beginning with the console had any effect on my little "test" but from what I've read it doesn't seem to make a difference (and I'm not about to put 5+ hours into testing that theory). So long story short, if you can manage to leave the game on without crashes or loads then you just might be able to play it with no problems! 
The patch (which I downloaded from GCW) IS safe though, and does help a little as described above, but still no real fix. The person(s) who made it must not have tested loading and simply got excited when they saw the map working (which I've seen a lot of other posters doing as well). An honest mistake doesn't mean the world is out to get you. IT IS CLEAN. Whether downloading it is worth it or not is up to you.
I did see on one site that a person was going to try disabling internet then reinstalling with the crack and "fix" and see how that worked. I'm skeptical though, because it appears this protection is being triggered because it's NOT phoning home, not because it is.
As far as our angst-ridden flamethrower is concerned...
Maybe I'm behind things, because I don't recall the likes of AntiVir, Ikarus, or Webwasher becoming more reputable than NOD32, KAV, Norton, Mcafee, pretty much everything, etc. These aren't your blood test results, there IS a possibility of false positives here. But, yes, I can do math. How about some algebra.. If "x" equals "fell1234" and "y" equals "ignorant asshole", what does "fell1234" equal?
Seriously though, how petty can you be slinging insults at others because you think THEY are downloading a virus? If it's worse case scenario and it really is a virus, so what? You're obviously too brilliant to download the file for yourself, so you're not a victim of anything. So I'm not sure what calling everyone a "fucking idiot" is accomplishing, you're just wasting space.
