What do you mean don't work on a quad core?

Game runs fine on my QX6850 processor albeit I did hear there were some problems with the latest Phenom processors. (Albeit it should be a fairly easy fix I'd imagine.)

EDIT: The DRM you refer to (SecuROM online verification.) also work fine on Vista x64 with SP1.
(Which is what I use, XP is more or less on it's last straw since it's been out for six years, great OS but it's time to retire it - which is what MS will do fairly soon albeit I'd imagine it will still be supported for years to come, albeit unofficially.)

i wrote what the devs said on they official forums , but well don't blame Bioware they made a friking nice game , I BLAME Demiurge Studios that where hired to Port this game

I see, well I guess they meant that the game only takes advantage of dual core systems, similarly to most UE3 driven titles Quad-Core doesn't really bring a huge benefit for the actual game.
(It's a good future investment though, eventually games will be more multi-threaded and take advantage of more cores, especially as Intel is working on both a six and eight core processor albeit those will probably cost a fortune - even when compared to the extremely pricey QX9770.)

So does the online verification detect that you are running a pirated copy,
And send information to Bioware/EA, or is it just to scare people?

Those are not their ports. Those are just games they've put their touches into. For example, MOHA: multiplayer. Bioshock: opening sequence.

I changed 39 5C to 39 EB and the save is still grayed out with "Cannot save at this time."
It was worth a try for sure.

I think most likely we will have to wait for a patch from EA Bioware as some of our bugs are legitimate users' bugs

http://masseffect.bioware.com/forums/viewtopic.html?topic=631756&forum=127&sp=0

note that it happens also without a crack as well for those legitimate guys

js32a, if it's not the crack, how come everyone with cracked can't get it to work, but when they buy a legal cd-key and use that uncracked, it works ?

That's bullshit, someone should sue those lying morons. BioShock, Medal of Honor Airborne and Frontlines were not made by those idiots, and those are just the games I'm sure about.

*sigh* when will people read the whole thread before posting?

The guy said he'd used the crack because he couldn't verify his copy with the EA servers. That caused his savegame to become corrupted. Play on a verified copy of MEPC with a corrupted savegame and chances are you'll get the same errors, namely the galaxy map not displaying properly.

Ah thank you, I was unfamiliar with that.

I changed the 39 to EB and save is still grayed out. The save game I am attempting this from is an autosave that occurs after the first meeting with the council, then taking a transport to Chora's Den. Taking a transport to another area after that, or walking around where there are definitely no enemies does not enable save.

note that the guy wrote that he tried playing the clean version as well. probably it's just a Securom bug but it happens rarely for them as they have no external "fixes" for it in their exes thus not provoking securom constantly.

Ya note the problem when using the clean version was not the galaxy map/save problem

Those aren't games they made. Those were games they helped with. You can see what they did with those games by clicking on them (from porting to level design). Demiurge Studios sounds like they are contracted when any other studio needs extra labor.

Had the map problem with the original Reloaded exe. Used the "patched" same thing, by warping to the map and tried again. But then I read previously in this thread that problem happen if you don't used the default pre-made character. So I started a new game and used the default character. I warped to the map and it showed up fine. The thing is, I don't want to play as a soldier, I finished the game that way on the 360. Can anyone else test this? Using the patched Reloaded exe, as mentioned previously, default character, warping to the galactic map...

I heard that also about start bioa_pro00. I have not tried it since playing through the game as Soldier doesn't sound very fun. Infiltrator and Vanguard seem like the most fun to me.

This works with any character and any of the cracks. I have tried GWC #3, Reloaded, and Detonation. Start game up with console and custom character. During the prologue go to console and hit AT BIOA_ICE00.

There's no point in it though.

My thinking is, record a legit validation session and proxy it for game validation on any copy...

How do you proxy a package?
