I want to buy this but I have a problem; sometimes it will restart my computer (the cracked version) - you don't get refunds for electronic purchases over the internet (at least not with companies like EA - the trymedia types are a lot more forgiving) - so is this restarting thing to do with the game in general you think or a reported issue with the crack?
Regarding the game I really hate the combat. Wish it didn't exist personally. The dialogue and graphics (in cut scenes) and the voice acting is top notch though. First impressions are KOTOR3, only with a confusing menu system and some lame combat. The engine when running around smacks of; 'UPGRADED KOTOR ENGINE' as well, which is a shame, something more fluid and less rigid would have fit the new style.

I deleted my entire user profile and restarted the game with the autosave function disabled. So far both the manual save and quicksave have remained working. Can someone still floating around the Citidel try disabling autosave in the game options and see if the save and autosave functions start working?

I also noticed, that game lowers texture resolution and remove some visuals (i.e. lens flare) after being compromised. So I planning to restart game, first deleting Bioware folder and selecting default character. Expect results in hour or so.

What I did was to put the proxy in IE7. Firefox didn't get well with with for whatever reason. I bought it from EA Store and all went well. |

Bah, still nothing. I've tried most everything listed here, even ones that were said as not working, and nothing has worked. I just spent the past hour playing through the first part again, just to see if the savegame issue was fixed with the default profile. Not a thing. Still got the problem. Jeez, I can't wait till my retail copy gets here. =(
Or someone else makes a real crack, either one is fine with me.
Edit: And yes, like normal, autosave still worked fine.

Here are my saves, one is on the Normandy, right before the Citadel, and the other is on one of the planets. Both have save problems. Profile named Genome also has the black galaxy map problem.

You must delete whole Bioware folder from My Documents, then start with default char. If you need to change game settings, do this in-game. Do not exit the game via menu, do Alt-Tab, then End Task using Task Manager.
*** Well, this method just worked for me. Both menu saves and quicksaves are working in Citadel. So it must be true... RLD probably tested their crack with default character only.
Time to check if galaxy map working... another hour or two of gameplay.

As far as I know, this forum - the "PC Games Arena" - is for discussing the games themselves, original or pirated, while the other one - the "PC Games - Technical" - is for solving issues with relases. That's something you ***** noobs can't seem to gasp.

We have a working fix for the save game function here. I'm about to test if it fixes the galaxy map issue as well.

An interesting side note. I played the cracked version till i got to the galaxy map..then bought the dl version of the game. Reinstalled the game, and it works fine. BUT i did notice that when you enter the normandy (coming from the citadel) and you get that "scanning for decontam" cutscene, in the cracked version, the scan lasted about 5 passes. (The field would go back and forth over you about 5 times) When i played using the non-cracked exe and legit cd key, the field scans once (just goes over you) and then i entered the normandy. I did reload using the crack version a few times, and i can confirm that it was pretty constant each time on the cracked exe. (5 passes or so). Maybe it's a point where the game is checking to see if it's a legit version or not?

No it didn't. I played the same scene with cracked and real EXEs, and they lasted a single scan. |

So, you non-American guys who managed to buy the game, how did you do? I tried using a US SSL proxy but the purchase was denied.. perhaps because I used European VISA/MC?
Crack doesn't work, buying original doesn't work.. arghh!
