Do you receive the cdkey in an email and download the installer (if for some reason you do not have the .iso) separately?
I'm prepared to buy the game if I can simply use the cd-key with my current download. Don't want to start downloading it all over again.. |
That's what I did when I bought it from the EA Downloader. Just took the cd key I got and installed it with the detonation version dvd. Is working fine.

there isnt a dvd check
would copying the .exe and paul.dll of a legit copy work?

repeatedly hitting left and right mousebutton while loading the galaxy map makes it work, altho im now able to go to diffrent systems the map bugs out when selecting a planet to land.. maybe someone else can figure out a way from there

So for those of you who eventually went out and bought the game after the crack problems, did you start over from scratch, or were you able to get your save game from the cracked release, plug it into the new install save game slot, and then just continue on from the Normandy and everything worked properly?
If so, where is the file(s) for your save game located?

I started over from scratch, never bothered to find out if the old saves worked, wanted to avoid any potential conflicts so just started over.

And you have not had any problems whatsoever playing...(ie saves, galaxy map...etc)?
thinking about buying this one. I guess they deserve the money for a good game. I just dont want to shell out the money if the same problems persist.

Haven't reached the Galaxy Map yet but I loaded my previous save just before citadel after I bought it, and was able to save manually upon entering.

I never had the galaxy map problem on the cracked version, but did have the save problem. With my legit cd key and no crack, I do not have either problem. Although had a bit of a scare when I went to save and it said quick save failed, however that was due to not being able to quicksave while outside I guess, because once I went back inside a building I could save again.

Bought the game from Direct Drive with an US SSL Proxy, used DTN iso, and the cdkey i bought, it works decent, i also have the preorder, but hey i love bioware, they deserve my money:) For games like Kotor 1, BG, and this great game.
I used an US address, my real name, and CC, but US country and Zip Code, with proxifier and the ssl proxy, works great.

i just type the key ran the game and it worked (allowed the exe to connect to internet), then i went to bioware site to register my key and it worked, i am MS PC happy owner now. Didnt started my character, but i dont think i will have problems.
P.S.: i did drink 3 beers with this mess lol, sorry for my writing..
So no proxies on this part

no,
d2d install key works fine with detonation .iso, but still no save and galaxy problem
you are unable to run game without crack ... used protection required online activation
