not offgamers fault, funcoms decision though.

its not "funcoms decision", they set a limit, like EVERY OTHER DEVELOPER/PUBLISHER did since the dawn of freaking time ...

yeah but why didn't i receive my key then ? :@
it's already 4 days ago i preorderd it on the 13 th :s
so i didn't get a chance to register for early access
and send yesterday mail to them
still no answer :s
not a great service if you ask me ...

You will be able to play it on the 23'rd.
You wont be able to download it from Funcom, at least not yet, since it's only for the Pre-Launch people.
Your game should arrive on the 23'rd as well since thats the launch-date

I agree Ghworg, but I think Prelaunch will be more "fun" than the real launchday with so many more people lagging up start area.
Anyway it will be fun I think, and I have tried so many beta and first days, im expecting downtime and crashes too, but it happens

So got my preorder key and registered for early access tonight and then found it was closed. It still took my money and gave me the download link. Is it going to be useless or did I somehow sneak in?

You would of hoped they'd limit the number of preorder keys retailers can send out?
Not sure how it's normally done tho tbh, just that would seem the best thing to do?
Now a lot of ppl are left disappointed..
Or maybe I've misinterpreted? I was in closed/gen beta for ages but haven't preordered and probably won't buy..

I thought pre-order key was for the ingame items etc.. and a "CHANCE" to get early access. But I dont understand why they would charge you 5$ or whatever and then tell you its too late. I got to EA but this is what seems to happen to some ppl.

Ok let me just clarify all of this then.
Pre-Order
Gives you an ingame item, usually a mount or in the case of Amazon, a bow.
It does NOT give you pre-launch access, it just ensures that your game is there on the launch-day so you can play, providing your retailer ships it in time.
Pre-order is your gurantee that you will actually GET the game and not arrive to find it sold out, nothing else.
Pre-Launch
Pre-Launch you pay 5$ for if you choose it, and it gives you the following.
3 Days earlier access for the US, 6 days earlier for EU.
10 days Gameplay before they begin charging monthly fee.
The ability to download and patch the game from the 14'th
No special ingame items or similar.
Pre-Order is available as long as supplies last with your vendor, but since it's launchday today it's no longer Preorder, just normal ordering/purchasing.
Pre-Launch is not a physical "thing" it's a code you activate on your account and a download link, nothing else.
Pre-Launch was "stopped" a few days ago, because selling more of them would put too many people in it, making it almost impossible to download and patch with any real speed, and also remove any benefit of starting early since so many would play it would still lag.
Hope it helps clear the confusion.
Oh and there are 5½ hours left until Pre-Launch beginning, 5pm GMT.
Real launch for those without Pre-Launch is the 23'rd.

Does the game support dual-cores(quad is too much to ask) yet? In one of the older betas it didn't, but that was...5 months ago.

Servers are live now but you need another patch to play and the patch server isnt up yet.

Yeah I have been constantly restarting the client hoping for a patch. The official forums are down now so no way to find out it's out besides doing that.
Patch server just went online.
