I thought id try a new beer tonight, Hell I was bored Rolling Eyes I cant believe I wasted 2.55 on Becks Vier. It tastes like shit.. And now I can still taste it and it makes me feel sick. I wish I downed a lime and soda before I left. Twisted Evil:

Beck's and the complete Brauerei Beck & Co belong to Inbev, which technically makes it belgian, not german Smile But you're probably right about the taste, which one is Vier? I only know Green Lemon, Chilled Orange, Level 7 and the latest "creation" called Ice (lemon + mint, yech).

And the sad thing is, these sell like crazy over here (i live in Bremen, where the brewery is), this Beck's stuff has the highest marketshare among these beermix drinks. I mean we all knew beeing bought up by Inbev or rather Interbrew a couple years back would be bad, but i didn't expect it to be this bad Smile

Just because inbev bought up all these shitty breweries doesn't make it a belgian beer. It's still the german's fault for brewing piss.
Oh, and srsly wtf, 2.55£ for a beer? Are you serious?

All these beermix drinks, and alcopops for that matter, taste like some sugar enriched pisswasser. Teens these days seem to like it though, guess you're getting old watergem Wink

Ive downed my fair share of beer throughout my life and ive gotta say all European beers are fucking shite, gassy,tasteless crap. Best beer I ever had was in Turkey. forget its name. which is kinda ironic considering its a Muslim country Smile

Try some 'ethnic' beer you may be pleasently surprised

Efes or Tuborg. You would have remembered Tuborg, so it's definitly Efes Pilsen. And Turkey is not a muslim country. The muslims make like 95% of the population, but turkey itself is a laicistic country.

eh wtf? Its not an alchopop. It was a pint of Becks Vier which was 2.55 at my local.

hmm the regular Beck's lager has 4.8% alcohol, they don't even sell this Beck's vier in germany, probably for export only.

you should try some of the north american beers mate theyre so bad ive made peace with the fact that all i can drink over here (and prbably the rest of my life now i'm a canadian citizen) is rye...crown roayle of course Wink

Europe got lots of countries, dont put us all under the same roof. Tuborg, Carlsberg, Grans. Lots of great ones in Scandinavia. A friend of mine bought 24 cans of this spanish(?) beer called saniguel. Friggn great beer ^^

if you want the real deal, get:

- kölsch (zunft-brand prefered)
- weizen (erdinger)
- pils (krombacher)

the irish ones:

- kilkenny
- guinness

mexican rox too:

- sol

northern section:

- tuborg
- carlsbad

... that way u stay on the save path Wink

Only mexican beer I like is corona, and im not really that big on it either.. dont like the kinda 'after feeling' of a corona drunk night.

Although I still drink my one and only fave. Cant beat a good pint of Strongbow, bit of ice to keep it fresh + a sunlounger in the summer. Smile

There's a lot of good English beers. Most of them don't export as we have different tastes, most fall under what we call Bitter. John Smiths, Boddingtons, Stones, etc.
There are also some English Lagers (what most people refere to as beer), main one being Carling which is a tasty drop. I can't really remember any others, and I've only been away for 7 years, so speaks volumes really.

My favorite beer these days is Heineken. Tastes good, decent strength, and sits light so you can drink it by the bucket. Great stuff. There's some good Aussie beers too, in particular Toohey's Extra Dry. If you see any aussie selections anywhere give it a go.

The normal Becks isn't bad too, don't right it off because their pissy arty farty beer was foul.

My other memorables would be Red Stripe and Grolsche.

I'm sure there are many more, but I generally avoid the trendy beers. I usually find them dissapointing.

I love Corona too. I guess the poor of Mexico have good taste in beer. It is more expensive here too.

Didn't know that. Yeah, a great taste indeed. Never tasted any beer with so little bitterness(sp?). It just sucks to buy a beer that coast twice as much as another beer, not worth it imo. After lots of beers you don't care that much about the taste anyway Very Happy
