Hmm maybe I install the old NOD32 (vers 2.7 or so)

I just had two of the best races in my life Very Happy

This french guy and I were fighting each other, every round for victory and then an italian joined, crushing all of us three in the wall and guess who survived Very Happy My totally wrecked car just finished the race and it was such a great and statisfying feeling Very Happy yeah, this game is superb Smile The demolition system needs to be optimized though, some small crashes destroy your car, whilst bigger ones only damage the exterior.

Have you tried it online? Without driving helps people passing left & right it's quite far from arcade and meh. Press just a tad too much gas, spin the tail out and you get passed. Or turn a little too tight, slide a bit & lose speed and get passed.

Then with the muscle car race lose consentration for a while and you'll be frech kissing a wall very soon. Pick a wrong passing spot and you both end up in a wall. If you don't like online racing, then up the difficulty in the game, but online is where the action lies. Human speed, human errors and always someone faster, at least for me. Only won 1 race so far (like to race 5laps with damage).

It could use a bit of tweaking. Only time I've wrecked my car in race was in first corner with the usual people hitting rear and everyone spinning. I came off sand, accelerated a bit and found a car inside smoke. Told me I hit it with 12G force, but I was still on my 1st gear or so.

Head on collisions take damage more easily, but that's where the crucial parts are. You can drive without a wheel (lost one in drifting, slided quite good the other way Very Happy), but driving without engine spinning is a bit difficult Razz

My god the driving mechanics in this game are absolute garbage. It's like a 16-bit era racing game with modern visual presentation. I turned all the assists off and drove 1 lap, that's all I needed. Laughing

Single core CPU? (system specs are nice when commenting about performance) I'm maxed out with 1280x1024, 8xAF, 8xQ CSAA and still get 40FPS+. You're the first that have said performance not being good, even laptop player said it run smooth. Good that you enjoyed it better without helps.

Q6600
4GB PC6400 Corsair
HD3870X2 1GB

i get drops to 15 fps sometimes, but it runs 15-40 @ 1680x1050, wich is unplayable for a racing game, you need a steady 60 fps to play it.

this is like dirt, dirt was bad @ performance.

i think i found the problem @ codemasters forum

"viii) Is ATI’s Crossfire or NVIDIA’s SLI supported?

Unfortunately, due to the working of GRID’s engine, systems which link two or more graphics cards (i.e. Crossfire or SLI) are not implicitly supported. This means you may not see a performance boost from having the second card, and you may even have trouble running the game. If GRID is failing to start properly and your system is SLI or Crossfire enabled, try disabling the technology in either NVIDIA’s or ATI’s control panel in Windows and see if this helps."

BIG WTF, a game engine like this does not support two graphics cards???? WTF!!!!!!

Just got back home and installed the demo,
And my first impressions is GOOOD.
Graphics, soundwise, and gameplay [All assists off] (judging with only 30 min of experience)

Been a while since a played a good racing game like this,
Now im gonna try the online part.

And
What u guyz moaning about bad performance?
It runs like a wet dream on my dated vid card,
Advanced settings at high except shadows at low, 1152x864 level 1 AA.
Looks smooth,
Resolution is a bit low, but enough for me and my vid card Wink

Can 'Crossfire' be disabled in that card? That should "solve" the problem, but don't know if it's possible. Maybe it can be fixed in Catalyst, but yeah, if the game doesn't support multiple GPUs it shouldn't at least perform worse than single card.
