i dunno, why dont they get it, look at what has happened to horror movies and potentially good movies they have stripped down to pg-13. they have failed and SUCKED A basketball through a straw! Screw the kiddies! they dont have phat wallets anyway, make movies considering quality and having posters with "kiddies suck it! grow a few years..." on them.
I personally wouldnt care about the looks of the actor, as long as they would get hes Voice, the whole "Feel" of max payne and most importantly the SHIRT!... oh THE STORY too. M. Wahlberg is good and has the looks of MP1. but hes voice is too ghay to be a dark, tortured anti-hero.

No, they should have taken Timothy Gibbs. Does anyone know if he was even asked about playing the role?
EDIT: with voice-over from James McCaffrey (original Max Payne voice).
Too bad movie producers only care about famous faces.

Yes, syncronozed voice-over. It works for animated movies and since Max Payne players associate that face with that voice, it would help to recreate the real Max Payne feeling (at least for me).
