argh drifting is the only thing I like about this game! Sad

How did you notice that? The game isn't out (and demo is... well demo, it doesn't have almost anything)

god, I suck shit at this game, I can't get used to the steering Sad

Tweak it. Linearity 0 for wheel and then steering saturation so that it fallows on screen how you turn the wheel (+5% deadzone).

Wingman Formula Force GP still works in Vista, even x64 drivers, BUT the game doesn't support force effects in this Sad Still get centering force from drivers, but no vibrations or loosing grip/oversteer feel. (but this wheel has to be 10years old, so can't really blame them).

677k in drift without help, god it's awesome. Almost like driving rear wheel car on ice for real Smile Little more, shirt is not wet enough yet Very Happy Drifting is hard work with wheel and soooo much fun as I suspected. Now what is the cheapest wheel the game supports, I want force back :/

edit: seems old wheel will do, once they find a fix for FF Wheel + GRID + Vista.

You can play with the other 3 cars if you modify the files a bit.

Blue - Available in demo
Red - Available only to AI

You need to rename some dirs and files, and you play with the other cars. The Camaro is awesome. Very Happy

Just don't play in the cockpit, they don't have the files and there are glitches.

just looked at the picture again... and found a mistake...
you can normaly drive the bmw, GTR and s15... while the Ai drives the LAC, cam and cha... Wink

oh and if you want to have the right interiors... go into the interior folder and do the same you do with the cars Rolling Eyes

But the interiors are not there for the other cards?

Whatever about the cars. It was late and I wasn't paying attention. I thought the larger dirs were the available cards.

Post-processing is a bit less intrusive than in DiRT, still would like a little bit less, but doesn't burn my eyes out anymore Smile

I agree, somebody posted earlier a nice no_postprocessing tweak and while it is interesting compared to the original, I still find the game too bland without any postproc., so what would be really nice is to find an 'in-between' setting which attenuates the yellow postprocessing without disabling it completely.

I just checked the effects.xml and compared the no-postproc. one to the original... but I dont understand the values in it, maybe I should try to halve them and see what it does in-game....

There was a 50% Post-process thingy for DiRT. It was quite hard to find, something like 1.02 version of the postprocess tuner, don't remember it's name anymore.

Wheel not working for me seems to be Vista issue. Long thread in Codemaster forums with G25 and other logitech wheels getting no force.

You're right, just found the tool you talked about, but it apparently corrputs the xml files so once you've applied the bloom tweaks with the utility the game won't load properly after the Codemasters logos... Mad

Best thing to do is to understand the values in the effects.xml file and modify them manually... but I'm so lazy right now...

I see that you didn't make any drift king or drift legend, I thought those were important, I already made them quite often but I didn't reach really high scores Sad

you don't really need the handbrake as far as I know, you slinger your car about wil make it drift, you need to keep makeing combo's to score the high points, don't go to fast or it will be harder to make long drifts...

Hehe, won't be playing drift online Smile Can't even brake 700k (well got 850k with keyb). Someone in the official forums had 7.1M... Now if there weren't those long straights, I feel stupid "drifting" on a straight road just to keep the multiplier up and most of the time I can't so my score is only around corners Smile

Doesn't really matter, it's fun no matter how many points you get. So much so that pre-ordered today, so I can get my ass whupped online Smile

Or maybe I go too fast? The game said the faster you go more points you get, but seems that going slower would mean more drifts and more points. Then again my slow drifts (more like powerslides) give 0 points.

I would say it depends Laughing on the corner for example.
I got better results when I went full speed, but with fullspeed its more likely for me to crash and the angle I had to enter the corner at was much less forgiving

but i am just an amateur Sad
