A lot of that MGS4 on 360 got started on April Fools sadly, and still hasn't died down.

I mean im sure Sony is paying a fortune to keeping it exclusive but it won't stay that way, Metal Gear has made it's way to the Game Cube as well as xbox before. It may have been late but I'm sure it'll make it's way eventually.

Yeah but 3 stayed exclusive
No doubt the demand will be huge for Guns of the patriots, surely they won't release a statement on multiplatform development till after the eventual release So even just now I wouldn't believe any news unless its official

MGS 3 was on the PS2 which was the leading console for the last generation so it was easy for them to not need to release it on other platforms to still turn a profit. Right now the Xbox 360 is the leading console of this generation with PS3 far behind so if they really want to make a profit on the game, multi platform would be the way to go.

Look how long MGS 1 stayed exclusive till Game Cube got it. MGS2 stayed exclusive then Xbox got it. Nothing stays exclusive unless it's a not so popular game.
I'm not with the company so I can't say whether or not MGS 3 or 4 will stay exclusive. But my guess, the way all companies are, if theres money to be made then why the hell not lol. Imagine MGS3 even just hitting the 360...massive world panic will occur from excitement and new babies will be born from kids having sex without protection for celebration....and I'll be buying a 360 haha. |

If the dust has time to settle it won't do a fraction of the damage to sony if its revealed after release that its multiplatform
Will shift ps3's and thats what sony need , So they will Do everything they can to get konami to Keep it exclusive or at least keep a lid on it till after release

Now Kojima is a well-known perfectionist, but it is a bit disturbing to see him voice his dissatisfaction with what is supposed to be the masterpiece of the franchise. So where does he lay the blame for not fully realizing his vision?
"When we first showed the game engine at TGS, the staff were really proud and happy. PS3 was a dream machine, y'know, and we were going to work on this and that - and we had so many ideas. But when we actually started developing the game, we realized there were a lot of restrictions and so it turned out how you see it today. The original vision was to go ten steps further, the reality was just one step, which isn't to say we didn't progress."
So there was certainly progress made, but not enough progress...or more specifically, not enough power for progress. Apparently the team overestimated what the PlayStation 3 was capable of.
"I remember saying three years ago that we wanted to create something revolutionary, but in reality we couldn't really do that because of the CPU. We're using the Cell engine to its limit., actually. Please don't get me wrong, I'm not criticizing the PS3 machine, it's just that we weren't really aware of what the full-spec PS3 offered - we were creating something we couldn't entirely see."
Well there you have it, straight from the man himself. Metal Gear Solid 4 is not revolutionary. Personally I think the man is being a bit hard on himself, but that's what great minds do. |

He isn't happy with any finished article , go look into mgs2 , mgs3 and even to some extent mgs
It covers his arse and it makes him look like a perfectionist ....

Well, it's not like the 360 is any better. The thing here is it didn't live at all to Sony's marketing BS of a beast.
And it's not a bad thing to be a perfectionist. He bought Sony's bla bla and thought he'd have a much better product. Now he doesn't.

Got my preorder in today. Paid for it in full as i dont know if i'll have the cash come june 12th
Man, I cant wait for this game. I love GTA, but im in love with MGS. Ive played them all and loved each one. Have them all too.
Fuck, I cant wait for this game!!! A month is too long of a wait

nahh last MGS i played was Substance it was ok apart from being shortest game ever
