I live in Joplin, Mo, USA and we had some deadly storms blow through today. About 9 miles from my house there was a line of destruction 1/2 mile wide and 5 miles long. A tornado went through Picher, Ok, USA and a lady found a cancelled check from someone in Picher in Springfield, Mo, USA about 80 miles northeast of Picher. My family and I were at Wal Mart when the sirens went off and were stuck in the store for over 45 minutes. While the hail hammered the building. There were reports of softball sized hail. 14 confirmed dead in the area so far. What a day. It got me thinking of where else they have tornadoes in the world. Nothing like seeing cars tossed around like toothpicks.

Last tornado around Moscow was in 1984, killed a decent amount of people. Cars were flying in the air along with roofs and cows.

So are you calling middle eastern people rapists? Wink

Anyways.. tornado's never seem to happen here although they certainly aren't needed. We kill each other enough already.

No real big tornado's here but there have been small ones that coverd the entire village in hay from the farmland. The only big thing we have had in the reigion was a downburst 15 miles north of where i live.

Yes we have tornadoes, microbursts, flash floods, giant hail, ice storms, blizzards and lots of thunder storms.

One day if I ever get a decent job, I would like to build my own house and have a tunnel from the basement going out to a dedicated tornado shelter under the back yard. I think I might build the whole house out of concrete instead of the regular wood frame most people have. Right now I have a large basement but I wonder what would happen if the house was ripped off the foundation or if it fell into the basement while I am hiding there.

We had whirlwinds near the city of Dubrovnik a month ago, there were like 12 of them at one time on the see, it was really freaky...

Laughing in it ... Snow in April now this ... I'm certainly not going to pack away the warm weather gear no matter how hot it gets. We get a few little twisters here & there in the midlands but nothing to what you find on the American plains .

You cant blame folks moving to the rich nations from poor ones. If you think about it, its fair dues seeing as the poor nations are poor as a direct result of the greedy rich nations being incapable of respecting peoples native resources. Wink

Where would you go if your homeland was raped by rich nations Confused

I'd like to see some kind of diagram or something explaining how exactly rich countries are exploiting poor ones.

Like for example what Vietnam would be like with foreign investment compared to without foreign investment in terms of wages and quality of life.

In reality it is down to third world corruption and incompetence hat keeps them poor compared to us.

Not where I am from, however the weather has done some weird things. As goble warming happens tornadoes are going to be happening further up north and perhapes places where they haven't been seen before. The storms we are getting seem to be a lot worse and do more damage
