I would change Western Digital Raptor 150GB for Western Digital Velociraptor 300GB, its faster only 2.5", quieter, just better in everyway and price is not high.

So my system is built & I got the q9450 as the 9550 is still unavailable. It's damn sexy though running 2 x 9800 GX2 havn't testing Crysis on it yet but I am hella looking forward to it

Did you really get the 1KW PSU? Jesus, it's like a power station, no real need for such a PSU outside of server mainframes.

Well, at least he's future proof lol. Wattage is seriously over rated. HE could have gotten by with a 600 watt. My gf just bought a BFG 600 watt psu. I was a bit displeased to see them following the trend by rating their PSU's at their peak which you'll rarely ever get to use.

No, with the 2 9800GX2 cards, 600 would not have been enough. Still think 1K is a bit too much.

Yeah so I overclocked my FSD to 1500 mhz & cpu was up to 3.0 ghz got an extra 1000 points in 3dMark 06. I'm pretty sure if I went up to 3.5 or so I could hit near 20000 points.

Also hate the mangrove of cables that a normal PSU can create, although have a pretty neat system at the mo. Took me a good 2h to do a proper cable management, basically most cables now run behind the mobo tray=invisible . But my next PSU will be modular 100%.

Cox, don't you have a water cooling system? You don't have to worry about wire work with that, unless you really care for aesthetics.

I did a pretty good job with my OCZ 600W in the Armor, but damn, the Armor is just huge, so lots of space to put the cables.

extra resistance, more spots for a connection to go bad etc

i think ive seen reviews for one 9800gx2 where the multimeter load for the psu was 400watt ( which obviously includes all the other components aswell)
so you might be able to get away with a really good 800watt psu as a minimum but i'd feel alot more comfortable ordering something like he has..
dont forget psu performance degrades with age aswell so they dont alway stay at there rated watts
