If you get back to the dashboard its most likely the country setting.
I had that on Mortal Kombat Deception.
In your Bios settings, set Country to Auto, then it should work. Default also works sometimes...never set it to PAL or NTSC only. (I have a PAL xbox)
Btw I did it with DVD 1 but it should work with both.
And be sure to delete the doa*.txt.
PS: I have an old Evox Bios, think its from May or June.

Am I the only one to notice this game is very slow compared to doa2 and 3??
that has ruined the game for me!!

I've got an Xecuter 2 lite, and I'm running EvoX as my dashboard, but I can not get the DOA2 portion of this game to boot from my HDD.
I've tried downloading the file, and I've tried ripping it from the retail disc. I've tried the menu selection fix, and that works fine with DOA1, but not with DOA2. I've tried booting the default file directly from Avalaunch or XBMC, but neither of those worked. I obviously aren't getting it to work from my game selection menu on EvoX. All I'm getting is a garbage screen as soon as I load the game. I'm not even getting to the warning screen that I get when I use the actual disc.
Someone mentioned something about "UDE1 with newest PBLmetoo (1.4) and EvoXM8" but I was thinking that kind of thing only worked for Softmods.
Can anyone help me with this? I'm a little noobish, so if it really is "UDE1 with newest PBLmetoo (1.4) and EvoXM8" that I have to do, I might need a little help with that.

UDE1 is softmodding. what bios do you have installed for your chip? try updating to the latest one. or even flash with the EVOX M8 bios.

I'm having the same problem a Korly, right down to the rubbish screen when trying to load disk 2. No probs loading disk one.
I have a cheapmod with an executer 2 bios. The bios version is quite old more than 12 months. I tried clearing the cache and running directly from boxplorer but no joy. Haven't tried turning off IGR yet - will do so but I doubt this is the problem.
Could be a bios upgrade is needed? There has been a suggestion elsewhere in this thread it could be the country region settings, but I am not sure how to do this - someone told me it is in the evox dashboard settings but can't see an option like that anywhere in the ini file or on the system settings menu.

Well i have an X1 and the game loads no problem, so it's definetely not a bios issue.

I got both discs, but when i try to run doa 2 ultimate, it just loads doa 1 ultimate? how do i get it to load doa 2 ?

Hmm, after finding out that it's "just" a DOA 2 remake, which one would you recommend getting, DOA Ultimate, or DOA 3?

Whats wrong ? I used M8 and the Metoo PBL ! Xbox = 1.1 NTSC
UDE1 with newest PBLmetoo (1.4) and EvoXM8 and it works
