Ok so im not sure how to explain this correctly, im sure it has a name and everything, but all i can come up with is horizontal line artifacts.

Basically whenever video's pan for some reason i get this crap, looking something like this big cat.

Can someone explain what it is and how to fix it Smile

Try using this:

Quote:
this is a new video renderer from vista
it runs on xp with a modded version of mediaplayer classic

you need .net 3.0
if you dont want to install it
http://www.zshare.net/download/9829764ac32dd6/
copy both dll’s to \windows\system32 and register
evr.dll with regsvr32 - or use the reg_drag&drop.exe

new: evrprop.dll (enhanced property page)
you have to copy it to the system32 folder & register it

start mpc
go to view - options – output
tick evr(vista/ .net3)
or evr custom pres.-- In this mode EVR support internal MPC subtitles, D3D fullscreen option, tearing test and pixels shader

======================
NEW : Command Line Option "/dubdelay" applies a positive or negative audio delay of ???ms, if filename contains "DELAY ???ms" (internal Audio Switcher required)
NEW : Russian, Turkish, Czech, Spanish and Hungarian translations
NEW : Internal AVI splitter support AMV files (need an ffdshow update to decode)
CHANGED: Filetype association. MPC is now recognized as a registered media player application. Filetype registration now compatible with UAC. (Vista)
CHANGED: Matroska internal subtitles are not loaded if "auto-load subtitles" option is off
CHANGED: Allow DirectShow to use a disabled internal source and transform filters when no other suitable filter is available
FIXED : Subtitle popup menu not working in French
FIXED : Remember file position option not working properly in playlist mode
FIXED : Crash when opening "Navigation" menu while playing dvd (German locale only)
FIXED : Memory leak with window resize
FIXED : Many GUI related things
FIXED : Crash when opening zero byte length MP3 files
FIXED : Crash when using "Save thumbnails" with number of row or column greater than 8 (now internally limited to Cool

In VMR9 renderless and EVR custom pres. mode it's possible to display a jitter curve using "Ctrl+J" shortcut. This curve show difference between the moment one frame was expected to be displayed, and the moment it was really displayed.
The longest horizontal blue line (2 pixels width) represent 0. If the red line is display above this line, it mean the timing is perfect. Short blue represent 10ms, and long one represent 40ms.

This may be a dumb question, but it might also display just like that if you don't have your graphics drivers installed.

Well I figured out what the problem was, I was using Haali's Video Renderer (for subs etc) and apparently that creates tearing, works without any tearing now using VMR9, however, no subs possible with that.

I will try the Visa version you suggested Leo, i think i read that it supposed to work without tearing without excluding subs when i was "researching" all of this.
