I was wondering if patching a game without Xbox Live was possible. I've been reading about a big patch for Saints Row, but I didn't buy that game. So is it possible to patch it on the PC and burn it after that or can it only be done with Live?

Can patches be downloaded with Live Silver? I don't plan on paying right away, but still want to dl patches, demos etc. Is that possible?

gold only gives you on-line play and thats it , patches and demos are free you don't need gold for that

yeah, I'm wondering about spending $$$ on a membership. You can only buy 12 month subscriptions in Canada ($60) but I wonder if I'll end up banned

Can a banned console download patches/demos or is the ban only for Gold?

From what I've read they seem to ban in waves, so still not too late for a ban...

Gold is only necessary for online play, and you'll get demos a couple of days earlier.
